The Philips Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor has a lot going for it! We used it in place of an older monitor for our second child (just turned 1 year old). Assembly was a breeze and the toggling through settings was easy and intuitive. I absolutely love the ECO mode as it saves energy and limits the amount of interruptions to my sleep while still alerting me to her needs. I call that a major mom win! The video monitor was clear and I had no issues with the size, clarity or connection. I think the music/sounds were my favorite feature of this monitor. We can play these as my daughter falls asleep and then cut them off once she is and utilize ECO mode. The one feature about the monitor I felt was lacking is the ability to move the mount via the display as the child grows and becomes a toddler moving around the room. This monitor is perfect for my baby but would not work for my son who has more freedom but still needs us to keep an eye on him at night and during “quiet time.” I'd like to thank WeeSpring Parent Panel for allowing me this opportunity to try and review this new Phillips Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor.

I received this baby video monitor from the weeSpring Parent Panel. This monitor does everything I need it to and so much more. The nightlight on it is a very soft orangey light and the lullabies it plays are lovely. I have the camera currently set up in our toddlers room on a nightstand next to a nightlight and white noise machine. I like that the camera has a stand attached. The video display is decently clear. The camera must be set up within a certain distance in order for it to be of optimal quality. If I could change one thing on the camera, I would like some way to remotely pan the camera left or right instead of having to make sure the angle is just right when setting it up. The camera offers a zoom and pan option, but I found that to be pretty useless. I also did not like the loud beep that the monitor makes when turning off. The monitor offers a great ECO mode setting that only turns on the monitor screen/audio when it hears a sound. Using the ECO mode allows the monitor to be unplugged and on all night without it dying. I highly suggest setting up the camera away from any constant ambient noise like a white noise machine or else the camera will sense the sound all the time and the battery will run out quickly. Overall we are very happy with this camera/monitor.

We were always a little skeptical about video monitors, but this one definitely helped change our minds! We love that it has its own private connection and does not require a public WiFi connection. It's very user friendly and simple to set up, I appreciate the multiple modes such as video, audio, eco and vox , customizable for every need. The camera also features a night light, two way talking, and our sons favorite feature, the option to play a medley of lullabies. The color and night vision screen are very clear and easy to see what's happening with your little one, the only cons I have found with this monitor is that I wish the battery life was a little longer. I also wish the camera itself had a rechargeable battery like the parent unit. Overall I am extremely happy with this monitor, thank you to the weespring parent panel for sending it to us!

This is an amazing monitor that trumps our old video monitor. Thank you weespring parent panel for providing us with it! This monitor has an amazing battery life, made better by the eco mode. It can last through two naps and a few hours after our baby goes to bed before needing to be plugged in. The video quality is great, even when it's dark and it switches to night vision. I can clearly see my baby on the monitor even when the room is pitch black. The sound quality is good, and having the vibration alert is perfect for when it is in eco mode. The two way talk is clear and also very easy to use. We have no problem losing the signal anywhere in our 1300 sq ft apartment, so the range is great. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to pan the camera, but I get a picture of the whole bed, so there is really no need for it. All in all, we love this monitor!

I have been using this Philips Avent Video Baby Monitor for the past few weeks and have tried to find something I don't like about it and honestly, I can't! My honest opinion is this is the best video monitor on the market and will be the last one we own! I love all the features it has like the night light, lullaby songs, 2 way talk feature. My 2 favorite features is has are the temperature reading inside the room and the ECO feature. I don't like having a bright screen light on while I'm trying to sleep so I just switch it to ECO mode and the screen will just come on when my daughter makes a noise (depending on the sensitivity level I have it set on). I was kinda skeptical at first not thinking the video clarity would be good enough but once again I was wrong and the picture quality is great! If I hear and see my daughter getting a little restless I just turn on one of the lullaby songs from the parent unit so I don't have to get out of bed and go into her room. It also works great for nap time as I can just clip it on my belt and walk around the house or go outside and finish up yard work. You will not be disappointed in the unit at all! I resisted buying a baby monitor when our daughter was born because we were sharing a room with her and I didn't think we would really need one. Once I realized we did need one, we bought a super cheap one that didn't work very well. Then I got sent the Philips Avent monitor for free through weeSpring Parent Panel and I had no idea how much I was missing out on! We use the monitor every single night (our daughter goes to bed around 7 pm) and we can ACTUALLY shut the door and enjoy spending some time together without worrying about or needing to check on her every 15 minutes. The ECO mode means we don't have to keep it plugged in and we can go 3-4 nights without a charge since we only use it for a few hours each day. It's super easy to set up and see the baby and the amount of features on this thing is insane. I didn't know it had a built-in thermometer but that has been incredibly helpful for gauging how we should dress her for bedtime and if she's waking up too often, we realized it's usually too hot or cold in the room. We have actually been getting her to sleep better because we disturb her less, the room is a good temp, the nightlight is the perfect soft glow to keep on all night and we can let her fall asleep on her own and keep an eye on her. Seriously, spend the extra bucks and get this monitor. It's SO worth it. I wish we had gotten one sooner.

I was given this baby monitor a few weeks ago, to test as a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My overall opinion is that this baby monitor makes big claims as to picture clarity, long distance range, and ease of use - and excels at each point! This is an excellent monitor. I have used a simple audio monitor since my baby was born, but now that she is a year old, it is hard to know what those cries mean. Crying is a natural part of falling asleep for babies, and it has been reassuring to see - very clearly - if she is standing in her crib crying because she threw out her bunny (and needs help) or if she is lying down, crying off and on, with her eyes closed (settling herself and almost asleep!). We placed the monitor in her room on a window sill and it gives a wide, full view of her crib. I like the option to mount it on the wall in needed in the future, but we don't feel this is necessary for our set up currently. The parent unit is very well designed. I was nervous that the instructions for set up were all images - there wasn't a lot of explanations about each feature. However, I quickly realized that explanations weren't needed! The unit is very intuitive to use and after pressing through the options once, I knew exactly what each button was capable of doing. My other children also learned the options quickly, and it's easy to ask them to check on the baby. They love the music options and being able to switch the mode to video to quickly "see" the baby. The mode choices are quite helpful. We keep the parent unit in the kitchen, so when company is over, I appreciate that I can switch the unit to just audio, so my guests aren't looking at the baby. During the day, we typically keep the unit on ECO mode, and it stays charged all day as we move about the house. It's a comfort to know that if the screen is off (black), all is well upstairs! When I first lay the baby down for a nap, I often switch it to video so I can keep an eye on her while loading the dishwasher or prepping dinner, and then switch it back to ECO when it's clear she's asleep. The range of the parent unit has allowed us to be in the backyard with the other children during nap time, which has been so helpful. My other audio-only baby monitor was limited to just outside the backdoor, so we are all thankful for the greater flexibility! In all, this baby monitor is well made and delivers on quality of image and sound. I highly recommend!

I received the Philips Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor from weeSpring Parent Panel to review. I have used two other monitors in the past but were not completely satisfied with either. This monitor has several features the other monitors were lacking. Set up was a breeze right out of the box. Simply plug in and place where you can see your baby. The camera has the ability to be mounted on the wall which is a great option for parents to have, especially when placement options are limited. I was amazed at the size of the screen. It's nice to have a monitor large enough that you don't have to pick it up to check on your baby, especially at night. You can easily glance at the screen and see your little one. The picture quality is nice in both color and black and white. I have noticed that when bright sunlight filters into the room it can make the picture quality somewhat grainy. Having an actual monitor is a plus for me because I didn't have that option with one of our old monitors. It could only be viewed through an app. Other monitors that I have used in the past have had obvious picture lags, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the fact that this monitor does not lag. The large clip on the monitor makes it easy to take with me wherever I go, and the range is incredible. I can move around doing housework without having to remember to take it with me from room to room. The connection is even strong enough for me spend time playing with my toddler outside while my baby is napping without having to worrying about losing signal. The battery life is great, which was something I had trouble with on the other monitors I have tried. My favorite feature is the silent/vibrate only mode. My children are 20 months apart, and keeping the oldest asleep when the baby wakes up at night has been a challenge. The vibration is strong enough to wake me without having added sound from the monitor that could wake my oldest child. That is so helpful! There is one thing that would put this camera over the top for me. I would prefer to have the ability to pan the camera around the room, instead of only being able to pan when the camera is zoomed in. This would be helpful when my kids are in the room playing but are not in direct view of the camera's placement. I honestly don't find the zoom feature helpful as is. Overall, I am impressed with this camera. Any product that helps my family get better rest and helps me better monitor my kids gets an A+ in my book, and the Philips Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor does the job!

My family has really enjoyed using the Philips Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor! Our daughter is 23 months old, so we'd been using another video monitor for most of her life but switched to this one when we received it. I think my favorite feature so far is the Eco mode. I leave the monitor on next my bed at night, so Eco mode lets me hear if my toddler wakes up without having her white noise playing over the handset all night long. Overall, I would say that we definitely had some pros and cons to this monitor. Pros: - The Eco mode is great! I love having the handset only make sound when my child does. - The large screen on the handset is helpful. Its easy to identify where exactly she is on it. - The temperature warning settings are comforting. You can set a low and a high temp for the handset to warn you about. Ours hasn't needed to alert us yet, but I like knowing it will if it gets too hot or cold in her room. - I also love the vibration settings! I'll wake to just a vibration on my bedside table, so I like having that option too. I can turn the sound itself off and still be notified! - Set up was super easy- literally just plug it in. Cons: - The camera can't be moved remotely. My toddler is in a bed now, so sometimes she just disappears from our view when she wiggles too far (or decides to sleep on the floor. Toddlers.) - I'm not a fan of the only speaker being on the front of the handset. I place the handset screen down when I sleep so the lights don't light my room, which also means it can be difficult to hear when my child makes a quiet noise. Thankfully, the vibrations still notify me! We don't use the lullabies or talkback feature, so I can't really speak well to their usefulness. However, the lullaby setting seemed robotic and kind of annoying when I listened to check it out. We also didn't particularly use the nightlight feature- I think the camera may be too far from the bed for the light to reach anywhere helpful in her room. Overall, I'm very happy with the monitor and definitely plan to continue to use it! It will probably switch to the new baby's room when our next one is born in the spring- I think the different mode options will be even more helpful when I'm using them with a tiny one who needs more monitoring! I really like the Phillps Avent Digital Video Baby Monitor. I received it from the weeSpring Parent Panel and I am so grateful I was able to use it for my little one, especially during nap time. I loved being able to see him with the color monitor and the talkback feature was awesome. He was very surprised when I told him to lay back down and he could not see me. I had no problems with the night vision to keep an eye on him while he sleeps. Can't wait to use it again for baby #2 due in February. I would definitely recommend to anyone expecting or in need of a new baby monitor.
