Hello, the fabric is a nice, durable polyester, sounds like your comment could be related to personal allergies. Also, we recommend always using both pull-tabs to slide it open first by pulling out the drawer that it is in, but when you open the bed, please pull the tabs UPWARD ONLY. The bed is already open, just pull the tabs UP and the bed will open flat. To put away, also pull gently up and place back in the slot. Hope this helps. - The Abbyson Team

The best way to see and visually appreciate the dimensions is by clicking through the pictures. The 7th picture shows all the dimensions. It is 84" wide, 32" deep on the sitting side and 58" deep on the chaise. The chaise is 26" wide. It is 36.5" tall on the back and 18" to the sitting height.

The brackets might be attached incorrectly. When affixing the brackets, the sofa has to be lifted up and the brackets are slid into the armrest brackets. This should fix the problem you are experiencing
