Chad the butcher

Chad, the butcher, is always so friendly and helpful. I like to get my ribeyes cut 2 inches and don't have to trim and he is always accommodating! And the price of the prime whole ribeye was so good, I went back the next day and got another one.

I bought this a little over 17 pounds in April 2025 for $320 .,Amd less pounds and more money i want to buy one but ima hold out till the price cones down. But its a beautiful piece of meat to break down yourself,it was my first time breaking down a whole ribeye, but I've broken down whole tenderloin several times.

Good quality meat from Sams

Excellent quality, was able to cut into 10-11 thick steaks. Not sure if I really saved much though by buying in bulk. Maybe 1 or 2 dollars per pound.

Great meat but wrong price.

The meat is phenomenal but it is not priced properly. I like butchering my own meat so I can cut steaks as I like. The slab at my club was priced only $1 per pound less than butchered steaks. Considering that approx. 25% of the slab is waste because none of the fat is trimmed, buying the whole slab with all the excess fat ends up costing more than buying trimmed steaks. I don’t mind doing the work to butcher but I don’t think it should end up costing more per pound.

Prime Beef

Prime was excellent but the cost was comparable to already cut. The best part was that buying in bulk allows for the size of the cut to your liking

To expensive now.

This Ribeye slab was a bit fatty so allot to trim. The prices on meat like this slab are to expensive to buy now.

Little too much.....fat.

Fat strip should have been trimmed a bit more. I would guess the strip was close to 3lbs of the 17 lb total.

Prime ribeye

I have bought several whole ribeyes from sams, they have always been outstanding. But the last one I bought was terrible, not happy to spend $300+ and get a tough all fat ribeye

Misleading “Prime” Rib Label Cost Me a $400 Headac

I recently purchased a whole “prime” rib from Sam’s Club for $389.77 after specifically asking the butcher for a prime rib roast. There was a sticker placed on the package stating that it was Prime grade, so naturally I trusted that it was labeled correctly. Unfortunately, after getting home and turning the package over, I discovered that the original manufacturer’s label clearly stated the meat was actually Choice grade — not Prime. For a purchase this expensive, that kind of mistake is completely unacceptable. There is a major quality and price difference between Prime and Choice beef, and customers should be able to trust that the product they are paying premium prices for is accurately labeled. I then had to waste additional time and gas driving all the way back to the store to address the issue. To make matters worse, the store didn’t even have any actual Prime rib roasts available to exchange it for. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing. I expect much better attention to detail and honesty from the butcher department, especially on nearly a $400 purchase. Customers should double-check every label carefully before leaving the store.

the price increase on this is absolutely ridiculous. i bought this exact roast 3 months ago for $275. i can literally buy prime grade dry aged ribeyes foe the same price per pound at the local butcher. save your money and go to ryans fatted calf if you live in Bowling green.
