Chad the butcher

Chad, the butcher, is always so friendly and helpful. I like to get my ribeyes cut 2 inches and don't have to trim and he is always accommodating! And the price of the prime whole ribeye was so good, I went back the next day and got another one.

Misleading “Prime” Rib Label Cost Me a $400 Headac

I recently purchased a whole “prime” rib from Sam’s Club for $389.77 after specifically asking the butcher for a prime rib roast. There was a sticker placed on the package stating that it was Prime grade, so naturally I trusted that it was labeled correctly. Unfortunately, after getting home and turning the package over, I discovered that the original manufacturer’s label clearly stated the meat was actually Choice grade — not Prime. For a purchase this expensive, that kind of mistake is completely unacceptable. There is a major quality and price difference between Prime and Choice beef, and customers should be able to trust that the product they are paying premium prices for is accurately labeled. I then had to waste additional time and ...

I bought this a little over 17 pounds in April 2025 for $320 .,Amd less pounds and more money i want to buy one but ima hold out till the price cones down. But its a beautiful piece of meat to break down yourself,it was my first time breaking down a whole ribeye, but I've broken down whole tenderloin several times.

Excellent quality and consistent end to end size. Will continue to purchase my fresh meat from Sam's.

Has that beefy taste that makes a difference today. We cut the prine robeye in 1" slices. We grill outdoors on high heat, salting an hour before, the best way to cook it and sear in the juices, and it cones out tender with a great taste ( much better than competitors)

    Good quality meat from Sams

Excellent quality, was able to cut into 10-11 thick steaks. Not sure if I really saved much though by buying in bulk. Maybe 1 or 2 dollars per pound.

    Butchering at home

I always prefer to butcher my own prime beef so I get my cuts and trims. Sam’s cryo packed meat is top shelf.

Great for rib roast and steaks.

I stopped buying cheaper cuts of meat and only buy USDA Prime. The marbling, taste, texture and tenderness of USDA Prime are unmatched. Sure it costs more, but so does a Ferrari. My brother-in-law has had two prime rib roast meals with this meat, and I am now considered to be gourmet chef.

    Excellent prime rib

One of the best prime rib roasts we’ve had. Very tender. Able to cut with a fork!

    Ribeye

The price was higher than the last Ribeye I purchased (180.00 compared to 315.00 on this purchase) I am very aware how groceries have increased..The quality and taste of the meat was exceptional..

You won't find better quality prime

This prime ribeye is amazing. Properly cooked (I cook quality meat like this sous vide) it is the tenderest juiciest meat you can buy unless you buy Kobe or Wagyu which will cost 10 times more.

    Great meat but wrong price.

The meat is phenomenal but it is not priced properly. I like butchering my own meat so I can cut steaks as I like. The slab at my club was priced only $1 per pound less than butchered steaks. Considering that approx. 25% of the slab is waste because none of the fat is trimmed, buying the whole slab with all the excess fat ends up costing more than buying trimmed steaks. I don’t mind doing the work to butcher but I don’t think it should end up costing more per pound.

    Prime Beef

Prime was excellent but the cost was comparable to already cut. The best part was that buying in bulk allows for the size of the cut to your liking

    To expensive now.

This Ribeye slab was a bit fatty so allot to trim. The prices on meat like this slab are to expensive to buy now.

    Good product - ridiculous service

Have yet to eat the roast. She’s pretty and should be wonderful. The trouble wasn’t the meat. It was buying the silly thing. Bought it online and picked it up at our local Sam’s store. It took 3 days and 2 visits to the same store to get the actual purchase price to match the online price paid for the roast. This was our 2nd experience with Sam’s online service. The 1st order disappeared during shipping. That took months to resolve. Hopefully others fare better. As for us online service is a 100% failure.

    Little too much.....fat.

Fat strip should have been trimmed a bit more. I would guess the strip was close to 3lbs of the 17 lb total.

I read the reviews on this whole Prime ribeye, thinking it's going to be great that was a total waste of $340 it was by know means Prime, it was more like a very cheap choice ribeye steak.. very tough no matter how we fixed it, so I recommend, if you're going to spend that kind of money, go to a butcher, get the real stuff....

the price increase on this is absolutely ridiculous. i bought this exact roast 3 months ago for $275. i can literally buy prime grade dry aged ribeyes foe the same price per pound at the local butcher. save your money and go to ryans fatted calf if you live in Bowling green.

    Prime ribeye

I have bought several whole ribeyes from sams, they have always been outstanding. But the last one I bought was terrible, not happy to spend $300+ and get a tough all fat ribeye
