Should be a zero. Who would have thought that pool salt could be so different. I bought this because Sam's didn't have my usual pool salt. I couldn't be more disappointed. The salt actually stained my pool liner yellow! Unless you have a yellow pool liner I can not recommend this salt. I will be returning and being very wary of salt in the future.

1st time I used the Clorox brand of pool salt....and it's the last time! Had to add 10 bags to my pool and it instantly turned my pool green, and stained the plaster bottom with it's impurities. Pool chemistry was perfect, and salt was the last item to add before enjoying the pool for the summer. Turned out it has high iron and copper impurities in the salt. Took lots of filtering, cartridge filter cleanings, and Metal Stain treat to rectify. $75 worth of chemicals and hours of non-fun to rectify the stains means I'll stick with Morton's salt - tried and true tested.

I bought 10 bags of this salt to treat my pool water 3 months after new plaster (have to refill with new water... so it needs full charge of salt). A few weeks later I notice I cannot get "dirt" to brush off the bottom of my pool. I call the guy who did the plaster and he asked "where did you get your salt- Sam's, (other big box stores)?".... I said "how did you know?".... Sadly he knows because this is so common!!! I am now doing an acid treatment and brushing my pool 3-4 times a day to TRY to get the brown stains out of my pool. How do I know it's the salt?? Perfectly exactly where I put the salt in, so many reviews here saying the same thing and TWO pool stores plus my plaster company confirming that this product is KNOWN TO CAUSE THESE STAINS!!! I have to say it clearly- spend the extra $4 a bag and get the $10-11 food grade salt regardless of where you have to go to get it. I saved about $40 on the salt. I spent $90 on acid, scale remover, stain remover, soda ash and alkalinity increasers(have to bring the PH and TA back up after the acid treatment). Not to mention the exhausting work of brushing the pool several times a day all over again just like when I got my new plaster done 4 months ago! Did I mention this is 3 month old plaster that cost me $4500!!!???!!! Signed- unhappy customer.

Used this product for the first time, and it will be the last! It left yellow stains on the bottom of my swimming pool. I have NEVER in my 14 years of using various salt product had this problem. Called Manufacture - Scotwood Industries, Inc., and was told I had to call back on Monday to speak to representative. I will see what happens on Monday.

I use this pool salt bc sams now carries it and not the other which I've been using since we got our salt water system! We e had our salt water system for over 3 years now and never had a problem! I noticed the liner turned a red/ orange color where we put it in the pool. At first I thought maybe it was something else so I tried to scrub it and nothing came off. So as I was making a purslane online I noticed that this product had terrible reviews and guess what, all had the SAME COMPLAINT!! So I called the company and she told me she had no had any negative reviews and basically it was our problem bc evidently we must have metals in our pool water!! I am furious!!!!! AND I WOULD HAVE PUT A 0 IF IT HAD HAD A PLACE TO PUT IT FOR MY REVIEW!

It’s good pool salt, it’s an ok price, clumps a little but works!
