I’ve had great results from these 40lb bags. You do have to be careful in selection however. Where I am at, Walmart stores them outside and they can get rained on. If the bags are torn then taped back up, they tend to be less than 40lbs of salt and if wet, … useless to you

Good to have on hand!! We live in a tricky area for weather …. Could get snow but probably WILL get ice. We have a long driveway and steps that get icy and ice melt sells out faster than bread and milk when the weather man says anything! Having a bag of pool salt is an economical and chemical-free way to be prepared for ice!

Picked up 12 bags of pool salt and although we have had this salt in previous years, this year it's all discolored and has black little pellets in it. Since I have added it in to our pool (which forms a brown cloud in the pool water) our salt chlorine generator keeps giving me a "Low" salt reading. This stuff is garbage.

Hi i picked up 10 bags recently and upon dumping them into the pool an odd brown scum floated up across the whole surface... not sure what's changed but i had to skim a lot to clear things up - salt came out white however but the bags were sorta giving a blue crumbly texture? Maybe i got some old stuff, i don't know, but i do know this has never happened before so now I'm vaccing the pool AGAIN and hoping this doesn't mess up anything for my opening. Either way - maybe time to look at alternatives if this is the new norm? I really liked this brand but i'm now a little more open to something else.

lt is a very good pool salt, if you could get it. I guess everyone thinks that in the winter your pool is just turned off, but it isn't. You still have to maintain your salt pool in the cool and winter months. I will give a 5 star rating when the pool salt ( this brand ) is available.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Salt is typically good, sometimes it has absorbed moisture in transit leaving it in a large solid chunk. This is a manufacturer issue with the bags. Price has doubled in the past 2 years. From $4 a bag to $8.

Four stars instead of five because of price. It’s increased about 65% since 2020 (pre-covid). I need to add a bag every once in a while and the Clorox brand dissolves very easy and is clean. I’ve bought a few other brands that are much harder to dissolve. This isn’t much of an issue if you’re adding a bag or two but if you’re starting up a new saltwater pool with 12 bags, it would be.

Excellent price. Extremely thankful for delivery. During highs of lockdown this was nearly impossible to get. The charge was 2 and 3 x’s higher to have it shipped and they stopped ordering in our store in July even though where we live pools can be used 9 months out of the year. On December 30 it is 77 out. Product does it’s job and the price is fair.

As a pool owner of 7 years I have never had trouble adding salt or any other chemicals to our pool. I added the salt last week and it stained the bottom of our pool. After I added the salt, I brushed the areas several times so salt would not sit on the bottom. the areas stained were throughout the pool due to this. I have now spent several hours researching how to get stains out and am now paying for products to try and resolve this.

I am heartbroken and wished that I had read the reviews prior to putting this in my pool. Our pool has been the centerpiece of our backyard and we have always kept it meticulous, so we were shocked when we emptied one bag of this pool salt into our pool and brushed it as we usually do only to come out the next morning and find large stains on the bottom of our pool where the pool salt was poured in. We tried brushing away these stains but they do not come off. We have used other brands of pool salt over the years, and have never, ever, encountered this problem before. Apparently, upon reading product reviews, we see that this is a common problem with this pool salt. We are very disappointed, and very upset that our beautiful pool now has large stains that we can't get out after using this pool salt.
