It’s a good idea to check to see if your bag of Clorox salt came from Scotwood Industries. The salt is made from frac water from a plant in PA (Eureka Resources), also Scotwood is a 3rd party buyer. Google Clorox salt and frac water and read the articles written about it. It all Clorox salt comes from the wastewater plant but you should certainly find out if the bag you use does. The salt doesn’t even meet the requirements to be used on the road in the winter, do you really want your children swimming in it?

Terrible salt. Stains liner pool. Got reimbursement from Clorox distributor to fix stain. ( Use Ascorbic Acid - vitamin C available in bulk. 1 pound will do job in 25000 gal pool.) A year or so later, I mistakedly bought same more. Same result. This time I got no response from company. It was my fault for repurchasing. Never again.

This salt dissolves so quickly into the pool. I was hesitant at first because some of the 8 bags that I dumped in were very hard - they were clumped. It didn’t matter, once I threw it into my pool, it took a few minutes and the. Just disappeared. Works well, the salt is very fine so it pours out of the bag very nicely.

I have used this salt in my pool since I first got it almost 4 yrs ago. Have had no trouble with it staining or turning liners brown and I am on well water. I walk around pouring into the pool and it is quick to dissolve. Helps maintain a crystal clear pool with less chemicals and does not burn your eyes. I buy 4 bags to start and through out the summer, as pool is in direct sunlight, I may need to add a bag or two. I just want to know when it went from just under $6 a bag to just over $15. If this is the price now, I may have to look at other options. This is the only reason I have it a 4 star rating when I am very pleased with product.

After 13 years of managing our salt water pool we decided to try the Clorox pool and spa salt which was a big mistake . We keep the pool meticulously balanced and after adding The Clorox salt it left a rust colored stain on the bottom of the pool. We tried again the following week by dissolving the salt first this time and then putting it in the pool only to get the same result . We will be returning to Morton's salt which is tried and true .

22x52 inch pool with 10 bags. I just switched to a salt water system this year so I actually read the instructions which tells you your pool WILL turn green as it's part of the process. The next part is to get in the pool and make a whirlpool so the salt dissolves, otherwise just pouring the salt over the side and letting it sit in one spot will discolor the liner.. but that goes for all pool chemicals.

Worst purchase ever. I didn't know a company could mess up salt. I bought 4 bags and put 3 in the pool. Turned pump and salt system on it was running fine the 2 weeks later the low-salt light came on and I added the other bag.. still saying low-salt. I did all the trouble shooting and still nothing. I ordered a new salt-system then read someone's review and now I will be going back the Mortons,, and maybe I will be able to return the new salt-system. Thanks alot Clorox for all the trouble

Great product but BUY IN STORE - instead of delivery or pickup. One third the price on the shelf as compared to here. I thought maybe it was a website mistake with a "1" in the tens position...nope, online price whether pickup or delivery is ten dollars more per forty pound bag.

Put my first 40 lb bag in and overnight turned pool liner yellow brown iodine color. Read the other reviews. Apparently others are having the problem with this salt. Supposedly metal impurities. The company should be paying for the cleanup or new liners.

This is very impure salt. I bought it because I liked how quickly it dissolved, but now regret it. I noticed after several clumps sat on the bottom, they left brown stains behind. This happened several times before I realized it. I will not be buying it again.
