I purchased this potting soil as an alternative to having to purchase Miracle Gro. The price was great, the product is every bit as good as MG brand, maybe better. Love that it is stored indoors and was not all wet and moldy inside, but nice, dry and easy to scoop out. There was a good balance of perlite in the mix. That is very important with a product heavy in peat to keep it loose and not dry up into a brick. I will purchase this again, if Sam's is still carrying it then. They have a way of getting good products in and then not carrying them anymore once they sell out.

I have a large greenhouse and use 15-20 bags of potting soil each year. I usually buy the Miracle Grow, but have been very disappointed in all the debris in it the last couple of years. I tried the Member’s Mark this year and not only is it $4 a bag less expensive, but so much better. No debris, and holds moisture very well. I will use the Member’s Mark from here on out.

After using 1 bag, I can honestly say the quality of this product is extremely low. All live plants planted in it are either dying or dead already. Cannot recommend it at all. As a lifelong gardener- this has never happened to me before. It smells more like shoe polish than potting soil. The second unused bag is being returned.

Bought one bag earlier this year -- had the typical "Miracle Grow" look with Vermilucite particles and small workable soil mixture. Last 2 bags I bought had the consistency of compost that we buy at the local nursery. Not a nice mixture that lends to use in potting seedlings. I have purchased 10 more bags, and have found the same compost type mixture in at least one (have not used the others yet)---Might take them all back and dish out the extra $5.00 per bag for real Miracle Grow.

This is a really good potting soil compared to other more expensive brands, I would much rather have this brand for the cost than the name brand. The soil looks as good as if not better than the name brand. It is rich and the perfect consistency. I can’t wait to pot my tomato plants in this. Still a little too early for that though.

In the month of February I usually re-work my vegetable beds and my wife works over her roses and other flowering plants. We attempt to re vitalize all the soil at least every other year by mixing a good mix. We were grateful that this year there was an alternative than the normal Wallet breakers available. Of course only time will tell how effective it will be. We were amazed at how well the new potting mix blended in with the existing soil and does not come in clumps and chunks. It appears that the new product will change the time necessary for plants to put on better roots and hopefully better blooms and vegetables. Will update this in 3-4 months.

Very disappointed in this product. There are large sticks and twigs in the mix. There is nothing that seems like actual soil. It’s more like shredded mulch. It’s difficult for new sprouts and roots to make their way through the “soil” resulting in very little growth. It doesn’t keep moisture well. I will use it to add to raised beds and NOT potted plants

It's early spring and I bought this mix for transplanting small seedlings into 6 packs to grow on before planting in my garden. Bark pieces were too plentiful and large enough that there was no room left in many cells to delicately place seedlings into the small cells with this potting mix. There were also long sticks and I even found some plant stems that were still green. Some seedlings have died and many more look pitiful and probably won't live. I am not a novice and have never had such terrible results. I thought the price was good but it will end up being very expensive.

This potting mix is a really good option, especially for the price! The quality is consistent and it works well for both indoor and outdoor plants. It holds moisture nicely without getting too soggy, which makes watering a lot easier. The bag looks like it will last a long time. Overall, a solid, reliable potting mix I'd definitely buy again.

The potting mix is easy to use. I opened the bag and dumped a bunch in my pot for planting lettuce. The potting mix was light, yet had good substance to it. It did not crumble from being chunky as other potting mixes I have gotten. I sprinkled some dry organic matter on top of each planter to help retain moisture. My daughter enjoyed planting seeds in the potting mix. I only have a couple pots left to plant before emptying the bag. I am looking forward to growing herbs and lettuce in my sun porch even though there is snow on the ground outside.
