These are a whole meal, especially when you add chopped onions and some grated cheese before cooking.

Excellent! Can add meat or not. I used 2 packets as a base for a mushroom, potato, onion, celery, white wine, and green chili soup - turned out excellent.

I was so disappointed by the lack of flavor. I agree with another reviewer that it could be delicious if you add your own spices, but you lose the convenience if you have to do that. Very bland!

I expected this to be seasoned well but its not. It is very bland and would taste great if you added some extra spices to it. Why buy it if you need to use your own spices to give it any flavor?

This dal is a favorite of mine, tasty and not spicy. I prepare it over a baked sweet potato, and it's a delicious, quick, and easy nourishing vegan meal. Love it!

I was so skeptical over these, have never tried them but figured I could return if I didn't like them. So after warming in a glass bowl for 3 minutes, they came out hot and tasty!!!
