Used to be great

We have purchased this for years. Never again. Ever since the new lower price you can't get it apart, it just crumbles.

Sliced too thin!

I have been buying this cheese forever, but the last package I bought was sliced so thin, it was nearly impossible to separate. Congratulations. You messed up a great product that I won't purchase again.

Mold

We have bought this many times and the last two times there has been mold on both blocks of cheese within a week of opening it. There won’t be a third time.

good cheese, but hate slicing it

Use to love this cheese when they had little pieces of wax paper in between each slice, but now they don’t. I hate the fact to use the cheese I have to use a knife to get a slice.

what’s the shelf life on this cheese

I bought this cheese and a package of Colby Jack a month ago. My fridge is so cold the milk has ice in it. Yet both of these started molding. I had to throw both away. Ugh

Delicious! Great quality!

This cheese is as good as or better than any Colby jack packaged cheese on the market. We are cheese lovers and frequently buy both deli and packaged cheeses, and this Colby jack was so good we blew through the whole 2 lbs in a week! The other people saying it doesn't have flavor are crazy and I don't know what they are used to, but I can tell you from experience this one tastes like Colby jack and it's good quality and flavorful. And to the person who said the cheese was moldy when you served to your guests- that's your bad for not taking proper care of it and observing the cheese before serving. I am SURE that you left your cheese sitting out in the sun for a bit while loading or unloading your car, or left it sitting out at home too long at some point. If cheese gets warm, and/or somehow introduced to moisture and bacteria, it will grow mold quickly, even while it's in the refrigerator, b/c you've already let the cheese get exposed to the conditions to grow. Our cheese held up even though it was not still super cold when it went into fridge from store, so I was afraid it would get moldy quickly. And then I prepped half the cheese which also gave an opportunity to introduce bacteria, and it still didn't affect it (But either of these things could have). We had ours for 2 weeks total- one week in fridge before I even touched/ opened the package, and then a week to finish it off. The prepped cheese was gone within 2-3 days, and the rest within 2-3 days after that. This cheese is well handled and preserved by Sam's Club, as I've verified with my own handling. Once it gets into your hands it's up to you to prevent molding. Also, the person who wrote that there's no longer separators... I don't like them anyway- they get in the way and at the deli, they add weight. But to each his own. It's still easy to pull these slices apart (Without tearing). You can also do what I did for some of the cheese, and what we used to do at restaurant where I worked. You can prep the cheese by washing your hands and pulling the cheese apart and turning each slice a 1/4 turn and laying one slice atop the other, alternating which way you turn so that you've made each slice separated. It creates a stack of star-shaped prepped cheese. This is handy when you go to grab cheese later. I did this for the first stack of cheese (First lb.) and then gave up b/c the cheese was so easy to pull apart "as is" in the package. But it's an idea for people who feel like this guy did. However, keep in mind if you prep your cheese to use food handling safety- wash hands, prep on clean surface, prep quickly to reduce time product exposed to air and warm temps, place into well-sealed package when finished, label date, etc.- to reduce chance of picking up bacteria leading to mold later. (Prepped foods need to be consumed faster than non-prepped- use within 2 days if possible.) Overall, it's a great value and great tasting cheese. These 2 lb. packages from Sam's are our new favorite packaged sliced cheese, and we plan to continue buying all the flavors/ types of cheeses in this form! We love it!
