It is not the savior I wanted. It "seems to reduce the swarms a little in our backyard but it still is a trial to pass through there when I'm getting my dogs ready for their walks. Still have to spray on repellent if I plan on doing more than just passing through to the gate.

The patio shield mosquito protector did a great job keeping away the nasty mosquitoes that are always drawn to me, eating me alive as I sit outside on my camper patio. The amount of mosquitoes decreased tremendously making it so much nicer for me to be able to sit out without having to be sprayed from head to toe with repellent. Although a rogue one or two would get me, this product decreased the presence of the several dozen that usually are out there attacking me. Living in hot, humid Florida, this thermacell is a must have! Thank you for making it more enjoyable for me to sit outside!

I bought 2 a week ago and it arrived the same day I had a party on my patio. I used it and didn’t have any problems with mosquitos. Even my guests noticed the difference. It’s easy to install and use. Love the product! I am mosquito prone and didn’t get bitten once.

This product works very well in repelling mosquitoes as do all the thermacell products I've tried. There are some significant improvements to this model. * This ignition system is more robust and appears to get hotter, quicker than previous model. This is really important because until the mat heats up your're being eaten by mosquitoes. * No batteries. Excellent. Previous halo requires several AA batteries. * Lightweight and a bit smaller than previous version. * Viewer window to make sure burner is lit is better positioned to give a clearer view. * Good use of space with mat storage underneath. Now unlike the previous halo version this product only holds 1 butane cartridge as opposed to 4 like the previous version. Personally I like the fact this model only uses 1 cartridge at a time. The single cartridge at a time will prevent you from wasting butane if you forget to turn it off. Also you wont waste time checking the butane levels constantly as I currently do on the previous version. Overall this is an excellent product that will get used almost daily, year round, in my mosquito ridden hometown of Miami, Florida.

I purchased this unit in green and one in red yesterday at Canadian Tire. On opening the box we noticed that there was no cover for the thermacell as indicated in the video. How do we get them. I think they would be necessary so that your unit would not get wet in bad weather. I know of others who have bought the same unit and they have a cover. Please inform me on where I can get these covers. I want the covers and Canadian Tire told me they received it this way, i do we get them if i would have known i would have not bought this ones

I bought this about a month ago. Me and hubby are staying super close to the beach and we use the patio shield almost daily for our sunset dates. We turn on about 5 minutes before let it warm up a bit and VOILA... it works no mosquitoes or annoying pest around us. Will definitely be buying the fills and repurchase if I have too!!

I bought this product a few weeks ago and it is amazing! I like that it's not a plug in so I can take it places. I bring it to the baseball field because the Mosquitos all always out making it hard for us to enjoy the games. I would definitely recommend.

This repellent absolutely works as specified, without that annoying Citronella smell! I placed it on my small porch deck and immediately noticed that there were NO mosquitoes! It is way better than other repellents that uses smell, such as candles, to repellent pesky insects. The butane refills can get a little expensive, but it is completely worth it because it actually works! I have recommended it to all my friends and family.

I bought the patio shield when we moved into our new home this summer as the mosquitoes were horrific. I specifically bought from the Thermacell website because they had a warranty. I was so pleasantly surprised and loved being able to eat outside on our new deck and relax with family and friends. I will say that sitting the shield outside about 15 minutes before going outside myself creates the ideal protection. So thankful for this product!

I was so hoping this would work as well as it claimed and well it just wasn’t so. We have had it on our back porch literally a foot in front of me for over two hours now and we are still killing mosquitos and my husband has still been bitten several times. We will be sending it back.
