I live in new Mexico and we have mosquitos especially in the mountains and by the water. This helps to keep them away from us and our campsite and well as our backyard. Very easy to use. Really like that it works 15ft around the device so we can set it on the table.

We love living beside the woods, but the mosquitoes can be brutal making it difficult to sit outside in the evenings. After getting quotes for those roll down screens for our back patio ($9,000 to $15,000... uh, no thank you!) and not wanting to install permanent screens, I found this little device and it has been a life saver!!! We turn it on (it makes no sound, no smell, no flame) and in a few minutes the mosquitoes are gone and we can comfortably sit outside. We tested it in cottage country last week and found the same result. It would be a great gift for anyone who enjoys camping because it is so small and lightweight to pack. Two thumbs up for this genius invention!!!

We rec'd & tested yesterday. Mosquitos were in the shop, & biting, until we lit it. The dogs & we were unmolested afterwards. Convenient features: A free-standing unit; mat storage in the barrel of the unit; weatherproof; same lighting mechanism as the hunting Thermacells. I'm sold!

I had read a lot of good reviews about this and so decided to buy it for my family for the Canada day long weekend, when we all travel up north and there are tons of bugs. I first set it up on the patio, it was turned on and had the light glowing. Left it on for over an hour and saw no improvements with the mosquitoes whatsoever. We were all still being swarmed by mosquitoes and eaten alive. It was not windy and there were visible fumes coming off of the machine but it was not keeping the bugs away at all. Later that night, we tried it again outside while we all sat at the bonfire. We let it heat up for 1 hour beforehand. It was still not effective at all, within 5 minutes we were all being eaten alive so we had to go inside. I am very disappointed that this product did not work at all and I am starting to think that all of the good reviews must be fake. Returned it the next day.

Let me start by saying I live in Texas and we have had a lot of rain recently. My husband and I like to sit out on our deck in the evenings but I usually get chased in by mosquitos. I have tried sprays, foggers, candles and the incense coils (burning as many as three at one time) but all to no avail. So far I have used it twice and NO MOSQUITOS! It actually works! I am so happy I am considering getting a couple as Christmas gifts

Mosquitoes absolutely love my daughter. And she welts up big time from a mere touch of a mosquito. We use it at our patio table and the mosquitoes just don't come near. Other bugs still find us. But not mosquitos. They just don't come near us. Period. I only wish it had an auto-off setting with a little 'ding' when it needed to be re-set. It's easy to put it under the table and forget it's on.

I bought this several weeks ago. We live in a wetland area, and this has been one of the worst years ever for mosquitos. We’ve not been able to sit outside in the evening at all without being bitten constantly. We have now been able to sit on our deck for 4-5 hours in the evening without a single bite with the use of our patio shield. This is a game changer.

This product works very well in repelling mosquitoes as do all the thermacell products I've tried. There are some significant improvements to this model. * This ignition system is more robust and appears to get hotter, quicker than previous model. This is really important because until the mat heats up your're being eaten by mosquitoes. * No batteries. Excellent. Previous halo requires several AA batteries. * Lightweight and a bit smaller than previous version. * Viewer window to make sure burner is lit is better positioned to give a clearer view. * Good use of space with mat storage underneath. Now unlike the previous halo version this product only holds 1 butane cartridge as opposed to 4 like the previous version. Personally I like the fact this model only uses 1 cartridge at a time. The single cartridge at a time will prevent you from wasting butane if you forget to turn it off. Also you wont waste time checking the butane levels constantly as I currently do on the previous version. Overall this is an excellent product that will get used almost daily, year round, in my mosquito ridden hometown of Miami, Florida.

We finally cam go outside again!! The Thermocells have been AMAZING! We live in the southwest where mosquitos are abundant and dangerous. You walk outside and you are swarmed! Our pets suffer from heart worms from mosquito bites and people fear outbreaks of Zika virus and West Nile Virus. The Thermocells have allowed us to go outside again! We are able to grill, swim in our pool and not cover ourselves with stinky dangerous sprays and we are not smelling the overpowering scent of citronella. Let's face it... citronella candles and torches only help a little bit. Plus, we don't carry them into the house on us, anymore. I use two in my yard and they allow us use of our deck and pool. Where were these when we were in Boy Scouts?! They are easy to use, attractive and they WORK AMAZINGLY! BUY THESE! GO OUTSIDE AGAIN!

I received the Thermacell mosquito repeller as a gift to review and give my honest opinion. I’ve used it for about 2 weeks now, and it seems to keep a majority of the mosquitoes away from our patio table while we’re sitting. Living in South Ga, mosquitoes are a nuisance nearly year round. It doesn’t get rid of them all, which I haven’t found anything anywhere to completely get rid of them-including having our yard sprayed regularly during the summer months. It is small and doesn’t take up a lot of room, which I really like. It’s not “cure all”, by no means, but it does keep those pesky mosquitoes at bay while we’re trying to enjoy our meal outdoors. The replacement refills are a little pricey, but I think they would be well worth it if you like to go camping, if you like to stay outdoors in a certain confined area, or if you like to garden etc. and have a few placed around your yard, I could see the use for one more. If you want something to completely get rid of them, this isn’t it & good luck finding something that does. The Thermacell Mosquito Repellent, in our experience, works well for what we need it for.
