Overall this is a fairly nice AC unit for the price point—it looks better in my room and is quieter, than many AC units. However, the temperature gauge—which measures the ambient air temperature in the room—is often incorrect. This is a problem because it means that it thinks the room cooler than it is and won’t turn on. I reached out to Windmill about this issue and they responded acknowledging the issue and basically suggesting I try and mess with the temperature gauge myself, by insulating it, to fix the issue. Not impressed that they are selling an AC unit that they know has this issue.

Super quiet and good ergonomic design. I’ve been searching for a quiet window a/c. They all claim to be super quiet, but windmill is the first to deliver. So good, I’ve bought 3 and will definitely be replacing other a/c’s with Windmill as able. I love the app, although I am still in the learning phase of all the different settings it offers. I would definitely, highly, recommend.

I bought 4 of these units for our bedrooms and these are by far the best AC units we’ve ever owned! They work great, keep the rooms cool, SO quiet, and they also look amazing!! We are beyond happy with these and we tell all of our family and friends to buy them. Love them!!

I moved from Albuquerque to Saint Louis and the summers are DIFFERENT. Both are as hot as sin. But, Saint Louis has far more pollens and humidity in the air and I needed an AC that would keep my 300 sq ft bedroom cool. The AC is so easy to install with 2 people and comes with a little kit so you have everything with you. NOTE: You will need a drill if you don't already have the right holes drilled into your window frame. The AC is so aesthetically pleasing from inside and outside, the remote works perfectly, and it keeps our entire upper floor cool. It's so much quieter than other AC units I've used. I also went with the carbon filter subscription even though I'll be using the AC only in the summer. It's cost-effective for me and that way I won't forget. The only thing I haven't figured out is getting the AC to connect to my phone, but meh, that's not a dealbreaker. I have the remote and it works perfectly fine.

The Windmill unit is beautiful to look at and easy to install. It cools down quickly and quietly. I couldn't be happier. Why can't more companies make beautiful, everyday objects. Customer service excellent, I had several questions prior to ordering and they were answered promptly and in a helpful way. Price is a little high, but when you factor in years of use and the beauty of the unit well worth it.

We weighed investing in a ductless system vs the windmill and ultimately decided for our needs, the windmill ac unit was perfect. We purchased the 8k btu with the whisper tech feature since this is for our second floor and is placed in our master bedroom. Our central AC just does not really work for the second floor. This unit Iexceeds our expectations. It was super easy to install, it’s very quiet and efficiently cools not just our second floor but, as a bonus, also our first floor. We have our central air set at 80 degrees and the downstairs temp reads anywhere from 70-75, depending on time of day and outside temp. The upstairs is super comfortable and while we have the windmill unit set at 75 (on eco), it consistently reads lower. To be fair, we have a brick house and great insulation. My husband says this is the sleekest window unit he’s ever seen and he’s right! It looks good on both sides. We definitely do not regret our decision to just get the windmill vs the ductless system.

This was my first time ordering a windmill and overall, the experience has been great. My old Frigidaire 8000 btu was on its last legs due to its age and very low levels of refrigerant. I initially ordered a windmill 8k unit without whispertech and it arrived within a few days without issue. After using it for a few days, it was definitely an improvement over the old one but still felt like it would need to run 24/7 to effectively cool my work studio, which was 280 sq/ft but with 12 foot ceilings. I’m on the the top floor of an industrial building with little to no insulation, hot air gets trapped for days when it is very hot and humid outside. I opted to see if I could exchange the 8k btu unit for the 10k one. I emailed Windmill on a Saturday and they arranged for a private carrier to come on that Monday and take the current unit while delivering the new 10k unit. All I had to do was pay the difference between the two models. The new 10k unit was delivered on Monday at 5:30 and it could not have gone any smoother. The new AC has been running for the last 10 days without a hitch and more importantly, my space is very cool and comfortable. Setup was a breeze, even the way the packaging was designed, the box comes right off after cutting the plastic tie down cables. This model definitely cools the space down much quicker and I have set up automations to turn off a few hours after l leave and turn on a few hours before I arrive each morning so my space is nice and cool. These units are very well designed and built. And yes, they are definitely the quietest units I have ever owned. On the low fan setting which is what I normally have it set on, you can barely tell it’s on at all. Even on medium fan, it’s still much quieter than other big brand ACs. The whisper tech units are legit! Highly recommended if you are looking for a new ac experience.

This AC is very sleek and quiet. When people are at my house they always ask about it. This is the second one l’ve purchased to replace old window units. I will continue to do that until all our upstairs window units are Windmill units. I highly recommend this AC.

Set up was easier than the packet said. App works seamlessly. You can set up triggers and timing for the ac to turn on and off at certain points. It does everything you would expect and more. Very quiet and effective. Cools down my living room and dining room very well and quickly.

We love our Windmill A/Cs! They are so quiet and efficient, and more attractive than any other window unit I’ve ever seen. We had 2 units for over a year— and one stopped working. Windmills customer service was excellent! They quickly shipped us a new unit free of charge, even after our warranty was expired!
