Beautiful picture fell off the wall

I had a lovely picture with a command hook secured on dry wall. It crashed off the wall and broke the gorgeous frame and glass into millions of pieces. It chipped off a piece of the travertine hearth as well... Then I tried the command velcro with 4 strips and it would not hold... What should I do now?? I had to have it reframed and put the plastic instead of glass and that would not hold with the velcro.

Love it!!

We have old lath and plaster walls that are impossible to hammer a nail into without destroying the wall. These picture hangers are the best invention ever. I just love them! I have them in every room. They are really easy to put up and just as easy to remove.

I tried to use the command strips to hang my beauty vanity lights on the sides of my mirror....i bought the ones that support up to 16 lbs...the vanity bars are very light ...the wall is lightly textured matte paint and 6 times the bars fell off....so not this does NOT work on textured walls period !

TEARS paint off wall! NOT damage free hanging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The short version: these strips tore paint off my wall, despite meticulously following instructions. Do not recommend. I bought these strips to hang a frame. I followed the instructions and cleaned the wall with rubbing alcohol and then applied the strips and pressed firmly for the recommended amount of time. Step 5 asks you to peel the frame off using the bottom two corners so you can press each strip into the wall firmly. I did so gently, slowly applying more and more pressure over a long period of time, but one of the strips ripped a large section of paint off my wall anyway. I am very unhappy as I am renting and will have to pay for the damage. This is not damage free hanging as advertised. 3M please take responsibility for the poor performance of your product and make things right.

Perfect for "No Damage" Decorating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love these! They are very easy to use and extremely durable. I was nervous hanging my mirror up that it might not stay and would fall shattering on the tile floor leaving me with 7yrs bad luck. Not the case, my mirror is still on the wall holding strong 5yrs later!

Large Picture Hanging Strips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used them on a double picture frame that is really meant to sit on a table and they work great. They stick really well and hold the picture to the wall. I am thinking of replacing all the nails I use for other pictures with these.

Followed Instructions; Ruined Wall

Just bought three packs of these to hang some picture frames we've been meaning to hang. We didn't want to damage our walls, so we thought we'd try command strips. Big mistake. We followed all the instructions to the letter, cleaned the wall with rubbing alcohol, pressed strips the the back of the frame for 30+ seconds, position the frame and press to the wall for 30+ seconds to secure, but when we reached the step where you gently peel the frame from the Velcro to let the pieces on the wall set it didn't separate and ruined two spots on my wall. Never again.

Great for my office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just started at a new job, and my work area did not have any place to put the picture of my kids that I keep on my desk. My main office wall is a plaster partition; I didn't know if the structure would even support something hung from a nail. Also, the owner of the firm is planning on moving our office within the next year, so I want to limit the repair work that might be required. I used these hangers for the photo of my kids and a few hanging file pockets. About two weeks after I arrived, I got some additional storage space for my files. I removed the file pockets and the hangers and there is absolutely no sign that anything had ever been attached to the wall. Great product that works exactly as it says it will.

Failing slowly one by one

I used command strips throughout my home for all of my frames. They were easy to use and do not leave damage or holes in the wall. However; they have slowly failed one by one over the last year. I have lost multiple frames because the strips fail (even with multiple per frame- well over the weight limit) and the frames fall to the floor and break. I have had to go through and take down all of my frames and hang with nails anyways.
