We live in a historic house on an army post so I didn't want to put nail holes in the walls. We bought the Velcro command strips instead. It did not hold our photo, and left the adhesive stuck to the wall pulling off part of the wall with one of the strips. Cannot remove adhesive. Tried everything!

I have been using Command Picture Hanging Strips for a couple of years now. They have NEVER let me down! I have all of my wall hangings, including heavy, heavy mirrors, all hanging with them! I just love how they grip and come off clean if you ever want to move anything! One time I forgot to clean both the picture and the surface with alcohol and it didn't grip very well. So I started over! Both surfaces cleaned with alcohol, allowed to dry and up it went perfectly!

I used to be a walking advertisement for this product. I swore by them to everyone I knew. I would spend the money on them in bulk even though they are expensive. Something has changed in the way they make them, and they no longer work. Just rehung a picture that fell after a year of holding, and this one just fell and hour after hanging it and broke the frame I just replaced. So so frustrated with this product. It is now worthless. This has happened all over the house in the last six months and has cost me so much! And it used to be so good.

Used these for my Sports Illustrated special editions that I had framed in heavy black frames. 3 strips each frame and 3 years later still hanging around. Since then, I've used Command strips have been used all over the place, the office, my car ( handy to hang a mirror on the sunvisor), every where. Love these things!

I have used command strips for many pictures in my home. The weight of the pictures varies from light canvas squares to heavy wood. All are hanging safely, and I have a heavy collage frame that I occasionally take down to change the pictures. I simply separate the two strips carefully, change the pictures and snap back on. Remember, you must follow the directions on the package. Clean the wall, and the surface of the picture where you will place the stickers, with alcohol, let it dry thoroughly, attach the strips to picture, measure and attach strips to wall, and let the strips on the wall sit and adhere for an hour before hanging the picture. This method is foolproof. The only time a picture fell was when I did not clean the wall with alcohol first. Hope this helps those that are struggling. Be patient and follow the steps.

Our house burned down last year & we have been living in an apartment - patch what you do before you leave... Our daughter had passed away during her senior year of high school & I put all of her senior proofs in two large frames & hung them in the apartment. This brightened the bare white walls & we were able to see her beautiful face. We will be moving into our new home next month & I plan to buy LOTS of Command products so I'm not putting nails in my brand new walls! Thx Command!!

Having used the command products in my office and home it is now necessary to maintain a constant supply of both hooks and hanging strips. Having used the strips on a "frame wall" I refuse to put a nail into my walls any more. The frames hang and stay straight, and the strips are a cinch to use.

These are the best thing ever!! I have used these in my home a long time-I use them for my mom in the nursing home, A friend and I do arts and craft for the nursing home and love to use these because the walls are painted cinder blocks and it works so nice but they are so expensive we can't afford to do it all the time. Do you ever donate or give special discounts?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased several command strips for hanging large pictures. I just had my walls painted and I didn't want to use nails. So I tried command strips. Big mistake, big waste of money (they are quite pricey). Anyway long story short. Followed directions, cleaned area, etc...but everything fell off the wall within 20 minutes. Back to nails - they don't fail!

I love all Command products! Of course, they are perfect for putting up decorations for all the holidays but I use them all around the house too! I've got Command hooks in the shower, on the back of the bathroom door, in the garage holding tools, of course all my pictures have Command strips. So many uses!
