It is not quite as "soft" as we would have anticipated with a medium firmness. After seeing all the rave reviews and paying the cost of this mattress, we were anticipating "game changing" sleep, but that has not been the case for us.

Purchased the Tempur-Adapt 10 months ago and can say that my quality of sleep has drastically improved. I previously had frequent back and neck pains, this is no longer an issue. The material is cool and I don't wake in a pool of sweat. The investment is worth the price tag. I'm a fully satisfied customer!

The matress is more on the firm side of the spectrum, with a conforming soft foam top. I do enjoy the back support the matress offers. I do recommend this TEMPRUR-PEDIC matress if you enjoy a firm mattress with a little give on top the TEMPUR-ADAPT is for you.

The first year on our new Tempur Pedic Adapt Medium was great. Soft yet firm, with support everywhere you need it. Just like I remember from the Tempur Pedics that I slept on for years throughout high school and again after college. But almost to the day one year later, I started noticing neck pain when I woke up. It wouldn't go away, and started getting worse. I got the Tempur Pedic neck pillow, which did help a bit, and my wife says it reduced my snoring. But the neck pain never went away, with some days worse that others. After a few more months, my wife started having trouble sleeping because of back pain. Then I started getting back pain when lying on my back. We realized the areas where we sleep had gone completely soft, yet the sag in the top layer did not meet the company's warranty standards - as determined from the photos that they told me to take and send in. But this issue is not visible from the outside; it is a failure of the foam cells throughout the midlayers of the mattress. I can feel it by shifting to the center of the bed where neither of our bodies lie while sleeping. It feels like a ridge that you can balance on, like a thin sliver of support. But because of the properties of memory foam, there is no way to evaluate this without lying down on it. The mattress retains it's level form even as the interior foam completely breaks down. The company makes an effort to brand themselves as 'high end' and charge a fortune for their products. But just like their beds, the support from Tempur Pedic's customer service team is also severely lacking. It is very impersonal and you feel somewhat betrayed after getting completely shut down without a fair analysis. I am very disappointed with the way this company has become after being a previously happy customer. I used to recommend the beds anytime the subject came up, but I will never again. The product has gotten worse instead of better, and their service is abysmal.

I have a queen-medium firmness, and it supports my lower back and curves just enough without letting them sink to deep. It truly does form to your body in all the right way, without feeling any other sleepers in the bed. Even when my 100lb dog jumps in at night, I don't feel it.

We decided to save money, then we shopped for a mattress he felt like made him comfortable. We found the Tempur Pedic Adapt in a medium firmness. It's not that we had a huge budget for a mattress, but, sleep in cancer care is vital. So, this was the best choice for him. Our journey has been a long one. I don't have a Tempur Pedic myself, it was best we spent the money on him. I do not regret for one minute the money we spent. It has been well worth it, to see him sleep for at least 5 continuous hours!!!! So, when it comes to health, please, do not spare the expense if it is remotely within your budget.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thirteen years ago I bought my first tempurpedic classic mattress. I had never been able to sleep comfortably until then. I had a ruptured L5-S1 and a bulging L4-L5 with obvious disc disease. I even found myself sleeping sitting up during chemotherapy treatments. Thirteen years later, my back went out while moving and I noticed my mattress was no longer supporting me. I purchased the new mattress and within 4 days of sleeping on it, I am back to normal. This is a life altering product for me.

While enthusiastic, I was very surprised that after 6 nights 8 could hardly get out of bed or walk. I performed gentle exercises for a couple of hours and then gained courage to walk around a "Big Box" store. The next day the mattress was returned...not for everyone, sorry.

Expensive but worth every penny so far. Hybrid Temp goes easy on my aches and pains. I have the adjustable base and it makes a big difference in my acid reflux and also my hip pain. Zero gravity is a little difficult to sleep that way, but I tend to put it on 30 minutes before I get out of bed. Helps with back and hip issues.

I had my first Tempurpedic for over 20 years, told everyone to buy one! I never wanted to get out of bed, I could touch my toes first thing in the morning, it was great! Finally needed a new one so of course I bought a second. I wake up 80% of mornings with the worst lower back pain! I've only had it a year it's only half paid for and I wish I could return it.
