Item does work! I’m just constantly scared about it dying before I realize it’s low on battery. After I purchased the item I have seen so many videos about people saying if you let it die it won’t charge again!! What’s the point!? A very expensive pencil for this problem!

Enjoying this pencil

I am enjoying using the pencil, especially to write my to do lists. The reason for the 4 stars is because I have to pull out the cord and adapter every time I pair the pencil. Which is every time I turn it on. I am not in the habit of leaving my IPad on when I’m not using it

Works Perfectly Fine

No issues, works perfectly so far! I’ve had it for a few weeks now. The tips are pointed and sharp; I’ve basically been using one tip non stop since I got it and it shows no signs of wear. When purchasing, the free 90 day warranty eased my mind when reading any bad reviews. I got a good one anyways as it works perfectly fine.

Would not pair with compatible iPad

The pencil was a birthday gift for my daughter who loves to draw and it did not work fresh out of the box. I could not get it to pair and Apple said that they would have to charge me for a temporary hold until they received the one that doesn’t work.

Frankly, worth more than I paid for it

Feels good to use for Procreate. Screen protectors like Paperlike can wear down the nib, notably. I recommend also having some kind of comfortable pencil grip for this tool, as the completely straight-down, stick-shaped pencil is neither ergonomic or comfortable after several hours of use. That said, I have completed some very professional work without the use of one, so I will say that it is absolutely not a requirement. I really wish this thing came with a dedicated charger, rather than just the extensions. I don't mean to say that the extensions aren't extremely valuable, but it is extremely frustrating to have to look for another cable if my iPad is already charging. It does charge to full very fast. Annoyingly, you cannot use it while it is charging, even if you are on a cable. However, thanks to its extremely fast charge time, it barely makes any difference in workflow (for me, anyways.) While I have read online that it lasts for about 12 hours of continuous use, this tool has actually lasted for up to 14-ish hours. (Granted, my drawing and painting sessions rarely ever go over 10 hours.)

I love this Pencil

I love this pencil!! I ordered two that didn’t work for my iPad but I returned those and got this. I know it’s an older version but it still works just as good. My art is so much better and looks cleaner. What I love most is I can turn my writing into font that reads well. This is a great pencil. It came with two adapters. One was a lightning to usb or what other cord you have and the other is a usb c to lightning so if u have a cord for android it can still work. It also comes with another head which I personally think is amazing!!!

Great Accessory

The Pencil came with everything needed to link to your other device, whether it's a computer, iPhone, or iPad. The Pencil had charge so it was able to be used immediately. Only slight issue with the instructions not being clear on how to get the Pencil to connect. My daughter is very happy with the Pencil as she uses it for her 10th generation iPad.

I am very happy with the performance of the Apple Pencil. The features it offers in my note apps are very helpful. But I have had to kick start the battery twice in the 6 months I’ve had it. Not hard to do but it is aggravating to have to repetitively do.

Apple profiteers at the cost of user experience

Apple goes out of their way to make compatibility difficult between their Apple Pencils and iPads, all the more frustrating because this is a software limitation designed to maximize how many accessories you need to purchase. Only a masochist would design the compatibility matrix between iPad models, Apple pencils, and their charging accessories. We have a 4 year old iPad Air -- that uses apple pencil v2, because it has a usb-c charger. We have a 5 year old iPad with lightning port -- that uses an apple pencil V1. ...then, we purchase a current (2024) iPad with usb-c? Take a guess which Apple Pencil works with that and how you charge it? Apple Pencil *v1*, with two adapters (lightning to usbc and usbc-female) so you can charge it and also pair it with the iPad. Keep in mind this is a software decision by apple, not hardware, and if you contact apple to ask about this they also aren't clear on which Apple Pencils work with which iPads as their compatibility matrix assumes that all usb-c iPads work with pencil v2 which has a usb-c connection. I assumed the rumbling you hear downtown in Palo Alto was Caltrain. But now I understand. It's Steve Jobs turning in his grave every time someone has to use two adapters back to back with a current rev product to get it to charge.

Absolute scam with Allstate warranty - they won’t cover the product that was dead out of the box. I purchased it 8/2024 - but Apple claims it was it’s out of a 1 year warranty. Nobody wants to cover its defect. These die and won’t turn on if you don’t keep it charged.
