[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Apple Pencil product is the ********* updated version that comes bundled with the USB-C adapter for better compatibility with updated iPad models (in my case, it works with my iPad 11th gen A16 model.) The description on the product page doesn't seem to make this clear. The 1st gen pencil still holds up well and unlike the only other compatible option for the A16 iPad (Apple Pencil USB-C) offers pressure sensitivity, making it ideal for detailed art.

I was glad to find this Apple pencil for older iPads. Works great and has changed how I interact on my tablet! Highly recommend!

Setup and use almost totally transparent, once paired, just pick it up and use it. Seemed to work ok. Not sure the "pressure sensitivity" worked right on iPad A16. Should have made the decision to return it immediately, I ended up trading-in the iPad and switching to a MacBook for away-from-desk computing.

Hey, you have an old iPad, and thank goodness it still works, but your most recent Apple Gen 1 pencil (probably your second or third) has once again burned through its SHORT battery life and it's unrepairable, so "clunk"...into the hazardous waste bin! You need a new one because you're an artist and it really helps, so you've gotta buy yet another replacement. You already knew that, right? The first two (or three) died the same way - like airPods, the Apple pencil is a consumable, not an investment. You know the drill - shut up, pay up, and move on.

Plugged the pencil into my iPad as soon as I got it out of the box, it connected just fine and everything seemed ok at first. It was at 1% battery, and I figured it would need a bit to charge so I left it alone on my lap for about 10-15 minutes. Checked back and nothing had changed. Slightly annoyed I unplugged it and plugged it back in, hoping that it would charge at some point. Instead, in began to swap from charging to not charging every second or so, which is definitely not normal. Still though I figured I should just leave it alone and hope it charges, so another 20 minutes go by and when I checked on it again it was still dead, and still swapping from charging to not charging. I decided to go to Bluetooth and forget the device, then restart my iPad and hope it worked this time. When I booted up my iPad again and plugged in the pencil, this time it wouldn't even connect. The option to pair the pencil would pop up for half a second, before disappearing again. I couldn't even get it to properly connect let alone charge it. A complete waste of my time and money and patience.

When I opened the item a few months after buying, when I went to connect to IPAD it did not connect. It stated battery was low, so I charged it following the instructions. It did not charge when plugging in to the iPad. It did not charge when using the connector. It still does not connect to ipad and battery remains dead
