You can smoke it or you don't have to. It actually cut the cook time down a bit too. Doesn't dry it the meat either. I absolutely love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ninja Outdoor Grill and Smoker ProConnect XL is impressive just out of the box! The thick gauge metal and solid construction is obvious. I only used the grill function to make some burgers – tasted awesome! – but this guy also can smoke, roast, bake, and broil. It has 2 thermometers so you can temp monitor 2 separate items; of course it links to your smart phone for alerts and you can have it shut down automatically when a certain temp is achieved. It's very easy to use as the controls are intuitive. There is also a grease management system that is easy to use and clean which is great for foods that have a higher fat content. I can't wait to use the smoker function and slow cook some ribs or pork butt. It's convenient, mobile for going to the park or a friend's house, and with the Bluetooth connection you're not tethered to it while it's cooking. I would highly recommend the Ninja Outdoor Grill and Smoker ProConnect XL. It's a very versatile and user friendly piece of cooking equipment and it has a permanent home in my kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have fallen in love with this grill/smoker by Ninja. It comes with everything that I need to smoke, air fry, roast, broil and grill. It comes with pellets to smoke certain meats for awesome flavor. I was able to make ribs which gave me super juicy and tender ribs! I love how versatile it is for different cooking methods. It is very easy to clean up after use. The grease drip tray is handy when it comes to catching grease. The device can be operated through Bluetooth and it also has a meat thermometer. The handle of the grill is super sturdy especially on a flat table surface. The machine is a little on the heavy side but is easy to move around with help of two people. I also love how you don't have to use propane or charcoal which is important for my housing situation. I look forward to using this for super delicious meats and foods!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ninja woodfire proconnect is lightweight, portable, and very multi use. You have a griller, smoker, cripser, brioler, baker, dehydrater in one. But really, I used it for the grill and smoking. It is very convenient to set up and use. The grill is designed conveniently, neatly, and aesthetically. It comes with probes to conenct and a smart app to keep track of cooking. Overall I really liked my experience, the cooking quality, ease of use, and portability of the equipment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ninja has done it again. This grill is fantastic. It truly tastes like it has been cooked over a Wood fired grill, although it uses pellets. Easy to clean, easy to use, the directions are really simple and it has all kinds of little bonuses. We have cooked vegetables, ribs, burgers, I've even smoked a peach pie on it. We cook for a family of four and there is more than enough space. Comes with 2 lbs of pellets. Do be sure to read the directions first to make the most use out of the wood fire. Would make a great gift as a housewarming or wedding gift.

I bought this for my husband and he loves using it & I love the taste & speed of cooking. The smoke gets into the food so good. We had recently bought a pit boss grill and he said if he had tried this grill first, we would not have gotten the pit boss? This Ninja grill will be replacing our camper grill for sure,

I have to hand it to Ninja, it's a winner. I bought the standard size Woodfire somewhere else, but I have to say I wish I had this XL version. The three features that make the XL worth it are the larger size, the temperature probes, and the app to monitor everything. I was amazed at the smoke flavor it produces with just a 1/2 cup of pellets. It does everything they claim it does, and the smoke flavor is spot on. The thing is a little pricey, but on sale it's not a bad deal.
