American Standard Compact 3/4 HP Garbage Disposal

This was a great replacement from our previous garbage disposal that stopped working.  This one is smaller and more quiet.  It's was easy to install.

easy to install. fit right back up to all exsisting fittings under sink.
functions better than our old insinkerator 1/2hp.
takes up less undersink space.
not loud but sure not quiet.
stainless steel inside, old unit was not, and it rusted out.

Size, price and quality seem good.  The noise when activating surprised me as It is loud.  I guess part of then is the HP of the unit. Running noise is fine, quiter than old one.

Overall satidfaction.

My husband had never installed one before. It wasn’t a simple process, but a few YouTube videos later, it’s installed and working fine. No problems yet, and it has been a couple of months since installation was complete.

It was a great price for a good item so far so good. It’s working out really well.

States it has Easy Mount Bracket.  NOT VERY CLEAR.  In the middle of the job, plumber stated it would cost $150 more to modify the Easy Mount Bracket to attach to my sink.  I assume the plumber is honest.  Not very clear in the description about this issue or what to look for.  The added fee was more than the cost of the disposal.

Mounting Bracket Issue.

If you ever installed a garage disposal, you know the hardest part is cramming yourself in the cabinet and trying to support the disposal with one hand while attaching it to the flange under the sink. This unit is smaller and weighs less than your typical garage disposals. Which means it takes up less space in the cabinet as well. It’s powerful, when you kick it in and that motor jumps you feel it. It’s only been in for a week, so I can’t comment on longevity, but so far no issues. One thing I did notice, there’s no Alan screw at the bottom to spin the motor in the event it gets stuck like other disposals, so it’ll be interesting to see if that’s ever an issue.
