Taste Is Definitely Off
1 out of 5 stars review

Weird taste. We eat a lot of eggs these were in my local club instead of old ones we use to get in the Styrofoam package. Bought 3 packages. Tried them boiled then scrambled. Just the taste is very strange. Threw them all out. Won't be buying these again.

OK eggs but terribly difficult to peel when boiled

These eggs get points simply because they're cage-free. Cage-free isn't perfect but it's legions above how cheaper eggs are produced using "battery cages." Look it up. Battery cages are barbarian-like, all for money. They cram thehens in cages so tiny they can barely move at all... the poor tortured hens have food at the mouth and a place for the egg to fall in back. For every one egg, one hen spends a whole day like that. But I'm giving these eggs 3 stars because the yolks aren't as robustly colored as the cage-free eggs Sam's previously sold at this price point AND these eggs don't peel good when boiled. I mean REALLY hard to peel when boiled; near impossible to peel without losing 10% or more of the egg. I once read in a Georgia Dept of Agriculture publication that eggs are usually aged a month so that they'll peel good when boiled. So my guess is, they're by-passing the traditional aging process to save money. On some cartons these days, you'll even see mention of this... they'll say, "Now fresher." I like my boiled eggs to peel in a way that the eggs doesn't get ripped apart.

Bad packaging

I frankly don't care if cage free or not. Eggs smaller than Midwest Farmers, packaging is an absolute mess. Flimsy, by the time I git home had 3 cracked eggs. Fought to open carton which resulted in one more cracked egg and mess. Once open ended up digging old foam arton out of trash to use in refrigerator. Eggs that survived were fine, tasted ok.

Sams discontinued non Cage Free eggs and raise $

i am positively furious at Sams/ walmart for raising the price of eggs by nearly 300% and labeling them "cage free" and reducing the number of eggs by 12. shrink flation at its dirtiest sales scams, and i stopped buying eggs from sams when this scam was initiated , after all walmart continues to offer the same 2x18 count eggs (non cage free eggs at walmart stores at a higher cost then the were offered at sams. walmarts cost is the same as Kroger per egg at 60 count. The issue is that sams members dont give a crap whether the chickens are crammed on shelves or divided on the same shelves for eggs, sams customers deserve the discount they pay for their premium membership for and this eggscam shrinkflation is abborttent. i recall that Sams and wallmart were sued and lost over items costing less at walmart than at Sams, things like this will be bound to renew the law suit as large companies like walmart find ways to raise prices for no apparent reason.
