Looks like I chose the right company and product

After days of research and youtube videos, I made the decision to choose this inverter generator. All of my research seems to have paid off. After purchasing it today, I took it home and got started with the "Quick Start Guide." I filled the unit up with fresh non-ethanol gasoline. Nice looking unit I said to myself once I got it ready to start. The unit started up right away on the first pull. Quite quiet. I think this is going to be one of my best purchasing. It ran my dewalt 15 gallon, 5 amp air compressor at around a 75% rating of it's power output.

Easy to start

I just received my IGEN 2500. Everything I needed to get it going was included in the box, including the oil. Started on the 3rd pull. Put an electric heater on it to test its output and everything worked perfectly. I bought it to provide safe, reliable power for operating my ham radio equipment off the grid.

Powers Dometic Air Conditioner with MicroAir 364

Easily powered my 13500 BTU Dometic Air Conditioner after installing a MicroAir 364 easy-start circuit in the generator's normal mode. Although, the generator would not start the Air Conditioner in the Efficiency mode. The iGen2500 with the MicroAir is a less costly, more convenient, and much lighter solution than paralleling two 2000 watt inverter generators to run the Air Conditioner. The iGen2500 display indicates about 1600 to 1800 watts when the Air Conditioner is running. The generator's Efficiency Mode is relatively quiet at no load; although at full power, the noise is in the 70+ dbA range at 1 meter. The generator's engine has a small misfire or small backfire when running, but the small misfire/backfire does not seem to effect electrical power output. I use non-ethanol premium gas having a minimum 92 octane rating. Also, the generator runs my electric Stihl chainsaw even in the efficiency mode.

2500 Watts that I can easily pack anywhere needed

Bought this to use with my RV and as backup/emergency home power. So far works great. Starts right up and is quiet. I am not a scientist but give or take a db or two and it is as quiet as any others out there.....and at a GREAT price! So far I have used it on the RV and around the home. Sometimes it is just easier to grab this than to pull out extension cords for work out my large yard.

Power in a small package!!

I chose the iGEN2500 because of the extra wattage in a unit of the same size and weight as units with lesser wattage. Unpacked the iGEN added gas and oil, and unit started on second pull. Have used it on varying loads and performs very well. Not as quiet as the much more expensive Honda but........I've got more available watts!! Very pleased, just wish the cover was still available!!

Great!, but no cover.....?

Bought to take camping with our R.V.- it runs great, is powerful enough to run the air conditioner or the microwave, is extremely quiet, and light enough to be very portable! My only complaint is that it seems to have a slight sputter while running- even with no load on it. That being said, it hasn't posed a problem yet!

Digital read out

I've read review after review and decided this was the best buy. The fuel gauge is a big plus. I like to know what the voltage and load is since generators was my military job. Easy starting and noise level is normal. Haven't been able rv with it yet but have loaded it with various tools around the place. Easier to carry gen than get extension cords out. I like it.

Terrific Portable Generator for my Travel Trailer

I was in the need of a small portable generator to provide power for my travel trailer while dry camping/boondocking. After quite a bit of research, I purchased the iGen2600, and I am very pleased! It arrived quickly and without any damage (it was packaged very well, by the way). I unpacked it, read the manual, filled it with gas and oil and then pulled the starter cord. It started right up without a hitch. I then took the time to break it in the old fashion way (run 1 hour w/no load - change the oil, run another hour w/no load - change the oil, run a final hour with a light load, and change the oil). It ran like a clock through the the break-in period. So, now, how does it work when I put a load on it? I hooked it up to my travel trailer and used it to power the 13,500BTU A/C as I thought that was the real test. It handled it with no problem i - even with the startup surge/compressor load (disclosure - I do have a 'softstarter' on the A/C) it only hit 50% output - otherwise it idled when just the A/C fan was blowing. So, with the iGen2600 I can run my travel trailer A/C and still have plenty of power left over for other lights and appliances. I don't yet know if it will handle the A/C and convection microwave at the same time but I suspect it might - will have to do calculation on the amps. The front panel indicators are also very handy - it is easy to tell how much fuel is left, how much run time is left at the current loading, what the power output is, as well as what percentage of the putput is being used. It also has an indicator if the oil level gets low - which is nice to know before there is a problem. It has just the right outlets for my purposes (2 120VAC outlets, a 12VDC outlet, and a couple of USB ports for charging gadgets (cellphones, tables, etc) - although I typically would use the outlets in the trailer for that. In terms of noise level, we found it to be on a par with the other portable 2000W gennies that our friends have - I am not sure if I can tell the difference in a handful of dB's anyway. It does get louder when it revs up to 50% load when the A/C compressor kicks in, but that is to be expected and is probably still in spec. The lightweight (< 50 lbs) is a nice feature as one person can move it around. It is also very efficient with a good 8-10 hours of run time on a tank of gas (a little over 1 gal) depending on the load. If we are only using it to charge or trailer batteries, one tank of gas will easily last several days - but running the A/C a lot will bring that down to a day or two. We fill the tank and carry an extra 1 gal can when on the road. So, all in all, the iGen2600 is ideal for dry camping/boondocking in a small travel trailer. The extra 600W of power over the competing 2000w gennies at an affordable price makes for an easy purchase decision.

Fuel Level Indicator

New out of box. Fuel level indicator does not work properly. Only shows one indicator light, fuel tank was filled to about 3/4 full. Then filled to the red ring.Still only shows one fuel level indicator light. Hooked up heat lamp to generator and was running fine. Control Panel missing 2 bottom screws. 3 Stars because new unit was not 100%.
