Wow! Quiet, light, and runs well

I bought this a week ago. First few runs have been amazing. Super quiet and started up on the first pull after adding the included oil and some gas. Ran a few smaller items for about 30 minutes including a cell phone charger and a 300W work lamp to ease the generator in. Then I plugged in my corded electric lawnmower and cut the lawn front and back. Worked amazing. Love the fuel gauge and smart meter metrics. Wow, how technology has changed from our 30 year old generator that weighs easily twice as much and is much louder. I would recommend this for sure.

Works Great

I bought this inverter generator a week ago for power backup. It was selected for its power rate (2200W continuous), quiet operation and light weight, and with Westinghouse's good bland name. Today, I did the first trial run and was very happy with the result. After doing the steps per Operation Manual, the engine started after 4 pulls. Let it run for a few minutes and then connected it to some loads. It ran quietly even at full load. I switched on the Efficiency Mode and could tell the engine rpm changing with the load which was also shown on LED Display. I am confident the generator will help us to do necessary things when power outage happens.

Super Quiet & Efficient!

I bought this product a little over 2 months ago, have about 35 hours on it. Its a great unit, really quiet, and super efficient. The only 2 reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because: 1) Even when on solid flat surface, the display screen has a minor shake to it. 2) The 120v rubber plug cover could be a little better sealed. The other plug covers are great, they fit nice and tight, but the one people probably use the most has the weakest seal. Either way, would definitely recommend!

Many options

We have not fired off yet, but are very impressed with the options on it and the fact that details in manuel are extensive and even cover yearly maintenance. We needed one that would run our camper AC, and I do not anticipate any problems with this one. Only reason not a 5 review is because we have not broken it in yet.

Awesome Generator

I just purchased this generator a couple of weeks ago. At age 65, I have never operated or owned a generator. Today, I finally decided to fire it up and learn to operate it. I will tell you that if you take a few minutes to review the instructions, it will make everything so easy. I encountered no surprises and I was amazed at how quietly it operated. I plugged in a couple of power cords and got power to the light fixtures immediately. The shut down process was simple! I am thrilled with this purchase.

First impressions

I have only had this generator one day but initial impressions are mostly favorable. It started easily and worked. I used it with various items in both standard and ECO mode and it worked properly. The LED display could use more detailed information in the manual.

Easy start, low dB

I bought this a month ago and we are going to use it camping for the first time. It replaces a comparable model from a different maker of lower comparable cost. I like the upgraded display and weather resistant covers, but the 2500 model has a gas tank that it .5 gal less than the 2200 model.. Other than less fuel capacity, it seems solid and lighter than its predecessor of a comparable make/model. The oil was added and a little bit of fuel and the generator started on the first pull with choke on. We look forward utilizing the generator for multiple days as it runs at at lower decibels, comparable to much more expensive competitors that do not offer as much power.

Fantastic little generator for the cost

Everything about it seems to be good quality. I wish it had a standard 30A outlet so I could plug my 30A RV cord directly into the unit. With a MicroAir EasyStart system installed, I'm able to run my Dometic Brisk II AC as well as my 6cf Norcold RV refrigerator at the same time. I would have liked to see a proper break in procedure documented in the manual and quick start guide. In short, pull the spark plug and use the included funnel to pour about 1/2 ounce of oil directly into the combustion chamber. Then SLOWLY pull the starter cord about 15-20 times to ensure the cylinder walls, piston skirt, and rings are fully saturated with oil. The put the spark plug back in. Yes, it will smoke like crazy on startup the first time and this is ok. Put the included oil in the crankcase as instructed...gas it up and start it with ECO mode off. Once started, turn from choke to run position, then turn on ECO mode. Run it with no load for about 30 minutes. Stop the engine, drain the oil...yes it's black. Now, do it again, this time at about 25% load for 1 hour. Change oil again. Now run it a full power load through 1 tank of fuel. Then change oil again. After the first break in step, start using full synthetic oil. This procedure take some time and is a bit of work but it will ensure the engine is broken in properly and should last MUCH longer. Don't believe me? When you drain the oil the first time, drain it into a glass container and look how black the oil is. It will be like that the first 3 oil changes. After 3 changes, then run as recommended...50 hours between changes...always using synthetic. Also note that you don't have to use 10w-30. The manual says that you can run more temperature appropriate oil as needed. Also, get a better spark plug. You should go ahead and get 2...change out the cheap Torch brand after the break in. then have another on hand as a spare.

Good generator, had problems the second year used

Ran great the first summer it was used however the first use the second year it won't run smoothly. RPM's go up and down. At the end of the first summer the gas was completely drained before storing for the winter. Drained gas again after problem was discovered and filled with new gas-no change Plan on taking it in for a service check to see what the problem is.

Great product and quite a surprise for me!

In Ct. we have extreme weather events at times....severe snowstorms, thunderstorms and then there are times the power goes out for other non-weather related situations...this happened on 2 occasions this past winter. My wife with the help of our son researched what a good generator would be for our situation and they read reviews on line and purchased the iGen 2500. Thankfully we got by without any outages the rest of March because I got my "gift" of the iGen 2500 for my birthday in April. What a great surprise and can't wait to put it to the test .....although we did try it out and it works great! Check out the other great reviews online. Highly recommend this product!
