I live in Southern Ontario, Canada, where the winters can get chilly and snowstorms are frequent. With all the talk in the media ref massive Grid Outages, I decided to have this model installed. As I live alone, I have no problem powering my whole house, if required. I do have Natural Gas: Furnace, Hot Water tank, Fireplace and BBQ; the Genny also runs off of Natural Gas. Installed the 22kw whole house transfer switch generator at the completion of the construction of our new home. First time having a system like this to keep the power on. It sure adds happiness to our family living in Florida where high humidity and high temperatures during Hurricanes when the power is out will keep us comfortable.

I have had a long history with Generac emergency power systems from my 40 years as a General Supt of Power Operations in NYC Transit. Our crews started using portable trailer mounted units to supply critical power to train signal circuits and other necessary power needs in our substations. The reliability of these machines made a positive impact on Transit by reducing train delays and ensuring the people of NYC experienced as little delay as possible, in their commuting during local power outages. After experiencing our first Florida hurricane season last year, and losing electricity for 3 days, while watching my neighbors enjoying their new Generac Guardian generators, I decided to order and have my own Generac installed. Love my new 22KW/999 generator! The first week it was installed I got to put it to use! A squirrel blew the transfer switch for our neighborhoods power! I was in the shower at the time and when the lights went out I thought oh no! But 10 seconds and I had power! The rest of the neighbors were out of power for 5 hours! Generator did it’s job!

Well our Generac 22K generator is ready every second every hour of everyday 24/7 peace of mind. Completely satisfied with our generator, comes on once a week for 10 min to do a self test, great feature. Surprise storm popped up and power went out. Within about thirty seconds the Generac had fired up and everything was back to normal. Daughter and family camped out with us overnight. I was probably informed; but forgot that only one a/c would operate at a time. Ran upstairs a/c and cool air trickled down. Generac was a bit loud; but loud and cool beats quiet and hot every time.

After more than ten years' experience with our reliable 8 Kw Generac that met our basic electrical needs, we realized that it really didn't make a great deal of sense to have a backup generator that couldn't power our central air and our electric range as well. With that in mind we contacted our (outstanding) local Generac sales and service outlet to obtain a proposal on a unit that would meet our needs. Our sales rep, Ian advised us that our needs would best be met with Generac's 22 Kw Guardian with whole house transfer switch, which we had installed last Friday. The installation was done professionally and expeditiously and, almost as if on cue, we had a two-hour power outage overnight of the second day after installation. As the weather was quite warm, the central air came on during the outage, and while the a/c's initial startup load did cause a noticeable momentary increased load on the generator, it was well handled and we were glad we had followed Ian's recommendation for the larger unit. As we have been pleased with the performance of our previous Generac we are looking forward to having the added capacity as well as advanced features of our new Generac and being secure in the knowledge that future power outages will have minimal impact on our overall comfort and safety.

We live in an area where power outages happen. We are rural and are always the last group to get power restored. We invested in the Generac system last year (2022) after we experienced another power outage. I have 8 large fish aquariums and being without power is not acceptable. This year (2023-Feb) we experienced some of the highest winds in our history. Power was out for us for 5 days.
