This is a nice gun cabinet the only things i didn't like about it is.There was a couple of holes and they use this fake looking filler to fix them. other then that if u have a scope or bipods you have to put the gun in side ways other then that i think its a good gun cabinet

Very nice furniture well finished

Follow instructions carefully. IF possible assemble on a table or place boards or plywood on a bed, putting together on the floor can be tough on your knees. Screws holding top to bottom are a little short, so connect screws to upper ends and then to lower.

Helps out with gun storage

Unlike the descriptions on some other retail sites, this chest came in a very sturdy box and was packed well. Figure on about 3 - 3 1/2 hours to assemble it. You will need someone to hold the wooden panels while you screw the hinges onto them. While the directions say not to use power tools, you will have to ignore this advice unless you are Hercules. The "pre-drilled" holes are not very pre-drilled; in fact, the wood is barely dimpled where holes for the hinges are supposed to be--and in one instance, the pre-drilled holes were off a bit. You will need a very small drill bit to drill about 1/8 inch into the panels. If you don't drill the holes a bit more, you will find that it takes someone possessing gargantuan strength to get the wood screws in all the way. The wood, which is "pressed wood", is very, very dense, and the screws go in with difficulty, even with drilling out the pre-drilled holes a little more. Caution: do not drill all the way through the wood panels for attaching the hinges! There will be a hinged door at the top of the chest, under which will be storage for blankets and quilts, and underneath that will be the gun storage compartment. The gun storage compartment should have had a different arrangement for the buttstocks of guns rather than just wooden dividers; there should have been cradles that would keep the toe of recoil pads from touching the bottom of the chest, which would cause them to become deformed. You can modify the bottom of the chest yourself, and even put in some Styrofoam or rubber material to keep the recoil pads from contacting the bottom of the chest. Overall, the chest works pretty well, though the execution of the gun storage compartment should have been better. I also think that at least $50 should be knocked off the price of the chest for these reasons. Once assembled, however, the chest looks very nice, and it can provide hidden storage for your guns. Don't expect the lock to stop anyone--camouflage is this chest's forte, not locking mechanisms.

SMALL!

Item came well packaged. Very nice wood, and finish. BUT!, it claims to hold 8 guns. I am only able to store 4 full sized long guns, and 1 youth shotgun. Very small cabinet. Also it is a double stacked barrel rest, 4 slots in front, and 4 circle holes in back. so guns will be in front of each other not all side by side. So like i say if you have 4 long guns, its great. But if you have more than 4, then this cabinet is wayyyy to small for you..

SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND FRUSTRATION

WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS IF I KNOWN IT WAS MADE IN VIET NAM. PRODUT HAS HAZARDS WARNINGS FOR THE TYPE OF FINISHES USED ON THE WOOD. MANY PIECES WERE NOT PRIDRILLED. THIS MADE IT DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLY.UPPER AND LOWER GUN NOTCHES DO NOT ALIGN TO HOLD GUNS STRAIN. UPPER BARREL HOLDER HOLES ARE TOO SMALL. GUNS WITH HOODED FRON SIGHTS WILL NOT FIT THRU HOLES

For the money

It's a good purchase for the money. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because lil un-level when on hardwood floor. We adjusted the bottom feet pegs and never could get it stable. Maybe on carpet floors would work perfect. We anchored to the wall which stabilized it. It was easy to put together. An would recommend to a friend.

Easy to assemble. wood Glue for the dowels would be helpful. Need to screw the doors in place need help. If the holes were predrilled would be a snap.doesn,t quite fit tightly on the bottom part . but not bad for the price. A door handle would be nice rather than using the key.

Just Average

We bought this gun cabinet just to help store and display a few guns. When we started putting it together some of the seams did not match up and some parts were scratched. Luckily most of the areas that were damaged are in areas that aren't obvious. Also, the product has a very orange tint to the stain. Overall, it keeps the guns stored safely and does the job. Probably would have spent a little more and gotten a little better quality.

A lot of bang for the buck!

This gun cabinet was everything it is supposed to be. I couldn't believe how fast it arrived. The unit was well packaged. Assembly was easy and straight forward. It can be assembled with one person, although I would reccomend having a little help to install the door. Assembly took about an hour. The cabinet looks great, and unless you have guns with a look through scope mount, will accomodate most any gun you want to store there. It will still hold the rifle with the look through, but you have to position the gun a little sideways. (not a problem) I would reccomend this cabinet to anyone looking for an affordable way to get your guns out of the corners and closets where you have the stashed.

Great product

Very well made for a lower-priced gun cabinet! Will lend itself to installing a light in the top to shine down on the guns inside. Instructions were easy to follow. The only complaint was that the glass door frame did not have hinge holes pre-drilled as the instructions said. We ended up attaching the hinges to the cabinet side (which did have the holes), elevated the glass door to meet the hinges and drilled them ourselves. Turned out perfect. Will likely need the magnetic cabinet door catches so you don't have to keep the cabinet and drawer locked to keep the doors closed.
