The battery is fine, except the terminals are on the opposite side of the battery than the Energizer battery Sams Club used to sell. Therefore you will need longer cables.

I have an old mower that sits outside, year round. My battery is probably 4-5 years old. I charge it in the spring. It works till fall, with no problems. My mower is hard starting, so I may run the starter for a couple/few minutes, to get it to start. For the cheap price, I am more than happy!

I just bought this battery to replace a old battery (eight years old) in my John deere riding mower. The minute the battery was placed in the mower it almost started without turning the key. When I turned the key the response was rapid and the mower turned over instantly. When the mower was new it never started like it did now. A good battery with plenty of starting power. Totally remarkable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked this battery up today at my local Sams Club. The battery was fresh, manufactured in Aug. '18, and has a 6 month warranty (most other batteries have a 3 month warranty). It has a lot of power, and will spin the engine faster than most. However beware that the bottom edges of the lid where it is attached to the box are very sharp, and will cut you. I suggest you use a piece of sandpaper to round them off, or wear gloves.

I bought this battery two years ago and there is plenty of power to start the engine be it a cold day or a sweltering summer day. I just checked the battery while the mower hasn't been run in five days and its showing 12.85 volts. Beginning this winter, I plan to remove the battery and keep it and a generator battery on a trickle charger which has a de-sulfation mode which can extend the battery life even more. Since I'm retired and seldom drive, I already keep my car battery on a trickle charger on the days the car isn't used. With as much as car batteries cost, keeping the battery conditioned saves considerable money.

So many bad reviews for mower batteries. Could it be your mower has a problem recharging the battery? If it’s not recharging it will not last long!
