Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here are my complaints - 1-No telescoping handle , product is too long. 2-batteries that are shipped with the unit are only 2ah so they only lasted about 15 minutes. Bigger batteries cost another 100 bucks 3-String feeder did not work. Only good thing is that it’s lighter than the Ryobi, but with larger batteries that may change. Also I like the adjustable cutting head.

What a great tool!

This is the best tool I've ever used to trim the lawn. With just a touch of the button you can rotate it to do edging. With the wheel options it is super easy to use. I would recommend this tool to anyone instead of dealing with the messy gas and oil mix or even dragging around a cord. I know whoever buys it would not be sorry!

Love the power to edge around the driveway

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought the worx 40v string trimmer and edger and it works great. I have a question. Is there a plastic or nylon blade available to replace the string when edging. The edger uses a lot of string when cutting near the driveway

Very well built string trimmer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sturdy well built trimmer. Easy to handle and I especially like the .80 gauge trimmer line. I've been adding more Worx tools to my shop and this is a real nice edition. I would recommend this 40 volt trimmer to any yards-man or lady. My wife handles it with ease.

Great Gift

I purchased this Trimmer for my husband's birthday. He uses it at the cemetery around the headstone and planted flowers to neatly trim the grass. It keeps the cemetery workers from destroying our parent's plot by ripping too close to those areas. My husband loves the power and control it has. He is definitely happy with it!

Very good for a battery operated trimmer

Assembly was very easy. Surprisingly well powered for a battery operated trimmer. For regular edging and trimming I think this tool hits the mark. In parts of my yard that I have not stayed on top of, it didn’t have the power of my corded Stihl trimmer and I did end up pulling that out to use the more challenging areas. However, I think for most if my quarter acre yard this will be my go-to trimmer edger. The wheels make a huge difference if you have back or shoulder pain.

Edger fair at best

Bought the 184 trimmer .The the trimmer works great the problem is when trimming along the sidewalk, the trimmer line only extends 1/2" from the bottom of the wheel which means it only cuts 1/2" deep. Not near long enough to make a nice deep cut because the wheels are not adjustable. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star. Trimming sidewalk is very important to me.

Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. The wg184 has a command feed button on the trimmer directly. It's part number 4 if you're looking from your manual. For the trimmer to produce more line you would have to press the command feed button a few times to get the desired length you're needing. It will only shoot out a quarter-inch of line if you only hit the button once. So we recommend that you press the button a few times. Thank you for choosing Worx!

Shocking that I can actually weed eat again at 55

I’m 55, have had bilateral hip replacements, 2 back surgeries, 1 leaving 2 titanium rods and 6 screws in my back, severe nerve and muscle damage to numbness areas and now my knees are giving away on me. This tool is SO lightweight, EASY to control, practically GOES almost everywhere and is VERY cost efficient that even with all my ailments I’m finally able after 25+ yrs to ENJOY completing this mostly simple task. I’m hoping to complete another 25yrs with my Worx equipment.

NOT EVEN A YEAR and It is failing in every way

Just a year and I am looking for my receipt since before a year to either return or see what to do with this trimmer. To start the feed line never worked except for the first time I used it. It is so long that I cannot check if the line button does anything when I press it. So had to do it manually. Then the batteries discharge in less than half hour, so I have to wait until I charge them again! And I have a very small yard because there is so much shade that grass/weeds barely exist. And still cannot finish on one pass. Now the cap for the spool broke! Wow and I was trying to contact worx before one year to see what they could do about the feed line and the batteries. Now the spool cap to add. I had a homelite cheap electric trimmer for DECADES, and still works but I was tired of having the electric cord tangle on everything so I decided to get this and boy, I am so disappointed. Not even one year!!!

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us and bringing this to our attention. Our tools are covered by a 3-year warranty, so if your tool stopped working, we will be more than glad to assist you in making this right. The 20V 2.0 ah batteries have an expected run time of up to 15-20 minutes on a full charge, which may vary depending on the tool being used. We do offer 20V 4.0 Ah batteries that will double that run time. Also, the spool cap covers are plastic and are expected to wear over time. They are available on the Worx site under item WA0037. Please check your email as I have contacted you offline to further assist you with this matter! Thank you for choosing WORX!

Lots of power, but..

I bought this a couple of months ago. Have been trying to use it. Thought it would grow on me. It hasn't! I have been using Worx products for years, first dud. It's very long. Specs say 65". I'm 5'9". Standing it straight up beside me, it's taller than I am by 3 to 4 inches! Evidently Worx doesn't think the shield diameter counts. I have a very small yard, can't get close to the raised beds because of length. It goes through a lot of batteries. Good thing I have 4. Biodegradable "string" is worthless. It melted in use! I cannot air condition the yard!
