Worx well, but be gentle -- it will snap in two

This is the second Worx string trimmer I bought...and the second one that snapped in two at the middle of the aluminum tube frame. Be careful as you try to change the angle of the cutting head. you cannot put pressure on the aluminum frame as it is just light tubing and will snap in two. See photo.

WG184 Boxed with WA3525 vs Nicer WA3575 Batteries

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just purchase a WG184 string trimmer/edger with a 2023 build date from a local big box hardware store in Kalamazoo Michigan. To my shock it was boxed with the cheaper WA3525 lithium-ion battery packs vs the as advertised everywhere WA3575 battery that has the useful integrated three power level indicator LEDS and power level test push button. The WA3575 cost $25 more than the WA3525. So the unit I purchased with two WA3525 batteries had parts valued $50 less than if it was shipped with nicer as advertised WA3575 batteries. Was this a factory mistake? So I don't know if they've changed their designs, are reducing cost, or somehow someone just grabbed the wrong battery packs at the factory for my WG184 string trimmer. Sure would like to have the newer style WA3575 batteries with the three charge level LEDs and test button. The WA3525 battery packs I received are dated 2023 so they're not old, just the wrong ones per the Website. I'm only giving the device one star at the moment not based on performance but based on what I perceive as misleading advertising and marketing or just a factory mistake. I plan to return the WG184 boxed with the WA3525 batteries in hopes of finding a WG184 boxed with the nicer and more expensive WA3575 batteries. They don't charge less for the units boxed with the cheaper WA3525 batteries so it feels like a bate and switch. Yes I realize the performance ratings of the WA3525 and WA3575 are equal, but it's a fact that the WA3525 is cheaper with less features.

Just what I wanted

I like the trimmer and the wheeled Edger. Those are a real pllus. The minus is that the instruction manual was worthless for me. Lots of pictures and numbers that hinted but were not explicit as well as on different pages. Tha names of things were not obvious. Took me days to feel like I might have done it right and then didn't reall know until I tried it out. Then it seemed fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so disappointed in this huge, long, uncontrollable header/trimmer. I’m sure it’s over 6 feet tall. Neither myself, my daughter or my granddaughter can use it! We have all tried. I have many many other WORX tools and have enjoyed them. I have 4 (20v) now, but none are operational today. I thought 40v would be an improvement. It is very long, very awkward! Very disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your experience and review. We greatly appreciate your feedback. While the 40V Trimmer is recommended for its power, the 20V Grass Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower is popular for its light weight and adjustable shaft. The model number is WG170.2. Please check your email, as I have contacted you offline for further assistance. Thank you for choosing Worx!

Powerful for a cordless Trimmer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my trimmer about two weeks. My Lawn was pretty grown up due to so much rain. This Trimmer walked right though it. The Battery only had to be charged once. I had trimmer on 1 1/2 acre. Just my Daughter to do the job and I am 75 years old. I would buy this Trimmer all over again.

Don’t waste your money

I have and love a Worx leaf blower from years ago. This trimmer is a piece of junk. String tangles in spool so the feed button doesn’t work. I spend more time rethreading and advancing the line then cutting weeds. I thought it was the spool until the same thing happened with two other new spools. It just doesn’t advance the line probably. I would have been better off pulling the weeds by hand- that’s how badly this works.

Your review is greatly appreciated! We are happy to help with any usage or assembly questions that you may have. When initially switching on the trimmer, a small length of line is fed out. Each time the tool is started from rest it will advance about 0.25 inches of trimmer line. A ‘clattering’ noise will be heard when the lines hit the Line Cutter. Please don't be alarmed, this is quite normal. After about 5 seconds the line will be cut to the correct length and the noise will reduce as the motor gains full speed. If the noise of the line being cut can’t be heard, more line will need to be fed out. To feed more line, it is first necessary to allow the trimmer to stop completely; it must come to a complete rest, then restart, allowing the motor to reach full speed. Repeat above until you hear the line hitting against the Line Cutter. If required, line can be fed out manually. Please be on the lookout for an email from me to discuss this further. We appreciate you for choosing WORX!

Love it but it quit working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this item, but it quit working. I had a difficult time contacting customer support, but they are replacing it. I had previously left a bad review, but I changed my mind after they replaced the broken trimmer.

As Advertised, and Strong

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this with little expectations that it could only soft weeds and smaller stuff, but I was wrong as I have 90 acres in the woods with growth at a speedy rate in the early summer, but two batteries last just long enough so I want to take a break after they are ready for their charge, I have used this little lightweight powerhouse in some East Tennessee on the Creek type of environments and so far, it keeps on going, I am impressed, thanks Works....
