Customer reviews for WORX 40V Power Share 13" Cordless Grass Trimmer/Edger with Command Feed forGood Power Bad Balance WG184
I jumped on the Worx bandwagon a couple years ago and had been very happy as I have happily purchased additional power share tools. This product in weight is closer to my gas weed trimmer model and is designed for a tall person. So, it sites and feels awkwardly balanced when carrying and in use. My gas model is much more balanced in use and comfortable to use. It also did not come with a shoulder strap. I used a shoulder strap I had, and this trimmer having an unbalanced carrying position became very apparent. I wanted a quick powerful start and go trimmer and decided to stick with a Worx.powershare product line and did not check any reviews. I wish I had. The other battery model to consider the WG 183 spec shows it to be lighter but did not support the .80 diameter line I need. This model even with the weight would have been more acceptable if it were not so unbalanced. What happens is my right arm is constantly forcing the control end down to bring the heavy trimmer head to the needed cutting height. You cannot adjust the handle enough to compensate. This is because the handle cannot be adjusted further down the shaft. The balance is the major issue. Although its weight is very prohibitive even when batteries are not installed. There is also no bush attachment available for the Spring growth cutback

Nothing better
I have ALOT of WORX products. But this by far is the one I love. I started with the reg small edger and when I brought this I could not believe how great it was. I have been using WORX tools, trimmers, drills etc for a long time and never look at anything else. They all do what they say they do and more..... I almost forgot,,, A few months back I brought there work table. It is FANTASTIC. If this is your first edger. I would have to say to get the 40v power share 13inch. It cant be beat. One last thing. I had a problem with one trimmer. I think it might have been my fault. I called and they said .. NO problem. And sent out a new one. NO charge. There customer service is one of the best.
Great Power!
I had the 20V Trimmer/Edger combo and after about 15 years decided to upgrade to the 40V. The power is amazing - I am able to trim and edge the yard with one charge. I like the feature of switching back and forth between edger and trimmer. I have many WORX yard tools and am very happy with the results!
Good product
I live in a corner lot so have a lot of edging to do, both sides of sidewalk and curb on the left to the next house, both sides of driveway, both sides of sidewalk and curb to right of house to the corner, then both sides of sidewalk and curb around the corner all the way to the next house. Had been doing it with a gas powered weed eater. The weed eating part is more strenuous to me than mowing the lawn. The older I get the more it kicks my butt. Started looking at a battery option that wouldn't break the bank, something I could use both to weed eat and to edge. Found this one for what I thought was a decent price. Just edged the whole front with it and have to say I'm fairly impressed. The dual batteries lasted the whole yard which surprised me. Did a good job edging. About my only complaint with it guiding the line of edge. I like to see where the line is actually hitting rather than trying to line up the guard in line with edge of sidewalk. I found myself having to use it left handed to be able to see the string better to guide the cut along the sidewalk. All in all though it did a pretty good job and it was a little less strenuous being there are wheels so I don't have to hold the weed eater up off ground for the whole job. Bought an extra set of generic batteries from ebay (exact same thing as worx batteries at half the price) so I'm pretty set up. Now the big question is how long this thing is going to last. Will it replace my gas powered Echo weed eater that's going on 10 years. Nope, not a chance. I am glad I bought it though. It has it's place for my needs.
Safety issue
Trimmer works well but today I encountered a safety issue. When using as an edger if you push the button to extend the line the line that is cutoff will be among directly at your face. The motor rotates toward your body and the cutoff blade is at the top of the guard. The line that was cut off hit my lip and jaw creating a deep 1” long cut. This design wasnt thought through very well. Seems like if the motor rotated the opposite way with the cutoff on the other side of the guard it would be safer. Or change the angle of the cutoff point so it’s not aimed at the users head.

Great Design Worx, Keep adding new Tools for the Homeowner
Great Trimmer
This trimmer is great so far. I've only had it for a short time and used it twice. I'm female and 62 years old and I can use this trimmer with no problems. At first it bothered my arms, but then I adjusted the handle and then I had no problems. The batteries pop in & out very easily into both the Trimmer and the Battery Charger. I really like this Trimmer so far.

Unbelievably easy to use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a yard person. I do not enjoy the "relaxing" solitude time while taking care of my yard. So, I grudgingly bought this Power Share 13" Cordless String Trimmer out of necessity. Oh My Gosh. This item was so easy to put together, and was actually FUN to use! The adjustments that you can make with this item allows people of all heights to use. The Automatic String Advance button also made this convenient to just keep on going! I can see now, why I am getting attached to these Worx products!!

Lightweight & Powerful
I purchased this online and I have used this device two or three times and i bought it to replace the first generation Worx trimmer/edger that was damaged during hurricane. i like the share battery aspect as i can use it for the blower i have. i have a 0.10 acre lot and i trim the yard and then edge my whole block (yep, got a couple vacant lots) then have the battery life to blow my yard with one battery and then use the other battery to blow the rest of the block. i like the added power of the 40V edger over the 20V as edging with the 20V had some downfall. i am still getting used to the edger and trying to see how best to adjust it for comfortable use. why did i not rate it a 5? if i could do a 4.33 i would. just cannot without actual one on one comparison with other products. i do like that i have gone to battery from the gas/oil one that finally died.
Another Great Trimmer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th trimmer in 16 yrs with WORX. Every new one has been an improvement over its predecessor. This one has the better battery share setup over the no-longer-sold 56-volt model. Same excellent results and performance. But, a better move all the way round around. Thanks, WORX! You guys are the best!
