I purchased this for my 1 1/2 year old Grandson as a travel bed. The only reason why I rated it a 3 was because there is an additional reinforced strap across the middle of the cot that would be uncomfortable in a larger or heavier child. It appears that the strap has been added to the product because of previous reviews that stated a hearvier child would hit the cross bar. To me, the added strap now makes the middle too inflexable compared to the top and bottom and will cause the head and feet to lay lower than the childs tummy.

This cot is PERFECT for small children. My 2 1/2 year old loves it and it's perfect for vacations. I wanted to use it over Thanksgiving but I didn't have it ordered in time so we used it over Christmas. It comes with a blue fitted "sheet" but I put a crib sheet over it to make it more personal. The crib sheet fits perfect because the cot isn't thick like a real mattress. I know my daughter should be able to sleep on this for vacations until she's 5. By the time she grows out of it, our next one will be able to use it. Also, the weight limit is 75 lbs, and I'm not sure it lists that anywhere.

I purchased this cot to use when my grandson Wyatt, who is not quite 18 months old, visits - either for a day or overnight. I kept him yesterday and when I could tell he was getting tired I put him on the cot and started reading to him. He wasn't too keen on being still for a few minutes but I just kept reading and rubbing his back and he finally slipped off to sleep and slept for over an hour an a half (unusual at Grandma's house). Usually I've had to take him for a ride in the stroller to get him to sleep for a nap and then would just have to let him stay seated in there or I'd wake him up. The only thing I'd like to see changed is the middle bar which could be a problem with a larger child. But I folded a big quilt and put it on top of the cot for Wyatt to sleep on top of and that seemed to work very well. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who might have a child for a day or two visit.

The ease of setting this cot up is wonderful. My 3 1/2 year old Granddaughter helped me set it up it was so easy. She loved to sleep on it and it's a just perfect bed when the grandkids stay over and they are to big for a pack and play crib but not big enough to sleep in the basement on the couch. I love it!!!

I am happy with the quality of this product. It will be a novelty for my young grand daughter (when she is out of her crib) to sleep on in her own room at my house. The light weight construction makes it easy to set up and even easier for her to move it. I bought two, one for her to use when she is at home with mom and dad, but just wants to lay down in the common area. It will also come in handy for "camping", either in the playhouse in the back yard or while actually at the campground. i would suggest padding the bed part for children at the top of the weight limit, because of the bar that crosses under the bed part. For smaller children it seems not to be an issue.

I'm a big reader of reviews, I find you can never trust the star rating especially since people sometimes rate things they don't own "5 stars - this looks really cute!", or give things 1 star because they can't read the description. I already owned one of these and was contemplating buying one for my daughter. Our existing one has the strap in the center, and manufacture date of OCT-2010. After reading the reviews, I was confused because some state "the older one was better" and visa versa, so I wasn't sure which was the newer model, but decided to risk it and buy a second one. I picked up a second one at my local Walmart in blue, and was happy to see that the strap has been REMOVED in the newer models, this particular one had a manufacture date of SEP-2012. We then ordered another one in pink for my daughter. Happily when it arrived at the store, it also had a 2012 date, and was of the newer design. If you purchase one and it has the strap across the center, return it and see if you can exchange it for a newer one. (Walmart was happy to return my older blue one for me.) The manufacture date is on a sticker on the outside of the box. So to clarify, the company has updated this product and improved upon it. No more annoying middle strap. ----------- After having purchased three of these in total, I have to say my kids (2 & 3) LOVE them. We purchased a Foam Mattress Topper in a Full, cut it in half, and put it under the fitted sheet for extra comfort. Well worth the $11 it cost at Walmart. The kids nap on them, relax and watch TV on them, even stopped hopping into bed with us at night, and instead will sleep on these in our bedroom. They refuse to let me put them away. We're headed on a 20 hour car trip next month and have differing accommodations, so these cots will work perfectly for the cabin, house, and hotel room. This is an excellent purchase, and it's a great value for the money. I am so glad I risked buying a second (and third) one to find that the design has been modified.

This cot is very useful, however like all the other reviews it just needs a small folded blanket in the middle. My child didn't sleep in it first night said it hurt where the bar was, 2nd night with a blanket and she slept like a baby...it is smaller then a camping chair when folded up, very portable and plan on using it everywhere ie camping, grandma's, out of town visits etc. Well worth it!

I purchased this cot for my 4 year old son to use while we are traveling. He is 32lbs and 40 inches tall....fits on it perfectly. We used it this past weekend when we visited family and he really liked it. The cot is just as it looks....no extra padding, etc. the sheet that comes with it is of good quality and will fold up with the cot. We brought along a sleeping bag to put on top for extra padding. There is not a bar across the middle as I have read in other reviews. When folded, it fits perfectly in the stow&go compartment in my van.

I don't usually write reviews, but this time I am. I purchased this for my grandchildren. I open it before they came, as to see how it was made and how comfortable they would be. I will be returning it as soon as I can get to the store. It is hard and scratchy. I was very , very disappointed . I had read some of the reviews , which were great. I should have read the very few that were on the one star , those are the true meaning of what this cot is like. If you can imagine folding out a bag chair flat and putting a sheet on it then that is what you get. My grandchildren will not be sleeping on these!!!

i got one for my 2yr old son and he loved it...its perfect for traveling and i can fold up a blanket in it and still fit it all in the bag. my 7yr old daughter wanted one so i got her one also but she is just to big and says that there needs to be more padding on it
