Works great!

Absolutely love this vacuum. Works great and does my floor great - I have carpet, vinyl, and tile flooring that it cleans and vacuums with ease. I have a thick cable cord across my carpet as well as a small lip between my tile and vinyl flooring that it runs over with no issues. The mop feature works well too, only get slight drag marks due to the cat litter sometimes but usually it’ll make a second go around and take care of that. Love the app as well!

I have never had cleaner floors

I’ve had the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra for about a month now, and honestly, it’s been awesome. It handles hardwood, laminate, and carpet like a champ and picks up cat litter, cardboard bits, and other everyday messes without a problem. My floors have never stayed this clean with so little effort. There’s one tricky spot in my house where tile steps down into wood, and the vacuum sometimes hesitates there—but it’s never actually gotten stuck or needed me to step in. The app is super powerful—kind of complex, but in a good way. There are tons of settings you can tweak, and it lets you control just about everything you could think of. Navigation is solid, and the obstacle avoidance is smart enough that I’ve never had to rescue it. It always makes it back to the dock, and the mapping feature is crazy accurate. Watching it scan your house with its little spinning laser is actually pretty cool. It’s been very reliable so far. Aside from emptying the water tanks a few times, I haven’t had to do much at all. I also love the camera features—being able to drive it around and check in on things remotely is surprisingly handy (and fun). The mopping works well—not just a light wipe, but some actual scrubbing. And it’s got different noise levels depending on the mode. It can get a bit loud on max suction, but the quiet mode is, well, quiet. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a top-tier robot vacuum, this is it. It’s not perfect, but it’s close—and it’s definitely made my life a lot easier.

A must have for every hom

Super easy to set up. Does the job well. We previously had a Roomba. The S8 MaxV Ultra exceeds expectations and best bang for the buck

Great Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra with 8-in-1 RockDock® Ultra

We have had our S8 MaxV Ultra now for just over 30 days and are very, very impressed. A couple items buyers should know. Initial mapping by the unit took one mapping-only run (no vacuuming or mopping) by itself where it established a 'draft' about 80% complete route. With another 2 actual workouts (1 vacuum run and one combo vacuum and mopping run) it established a better and fuller-coverage route which it then continues to enhance (finding a better means to clean a tight space or exploring under or around a piece of furniture or doorway) each additional time it cleans and/or mops. This is a very, very smart beauty which found a better route to climb a throw rug after its first two runs and thereafter tackles our two door 9'' x 4' wide entrance rugs with no problem. I did position two eight foot long 2" x 2" wood lengths on the backside of two identical sofas that have underside AC electrical cords for their built-in motorized electronics, so the Roborock bumps these wood lengths rather than attempting to get close to the AC and DC lines and a portion of the motorized arms for the built-in ottomans, but if wasn't because the Roborock unit hurt anything. But rather I was concerned that overtime it might have "bumped" the motorized housing arms and AC and DC lines along the 8' length backside of the sofas --- and the wooden barriers (secured to the floor with a couple strips of Velco) allowed the Roborock to more quickly identify a variable depth barrier and complete the needed vacuuming in about one-tenth the time by avoiding a lot of repeat mapping discovery with its sensing options or potential soft-bumping --- though only potentially as I never saw problems happen. But this was the only avoidance issue I pro-actively prevented to avoid Rocky touching a portion of the steel mechanics or embedded sofa AC and DC cords running beneath the backside of the sofas from the floor surface to about 3" above the floor. I would have hated to have Rocky also get crushed by someone waking up on the sofa and triggering the ottoman mechanics just as "Rocky" was attempting to scoot underneath. Big issues? I was quite disappointed with the mopping in two areas during the very first initial runs --- but the problem was me, never "Rocky". After discovering in the software --- a section which revealed itself after mapping was better established after "outing" number 3 --- I simply selected a higher intensity level of cleaning and/or mopping along with an additional options, and Voila --- great cleaning and mopping. And by-the-way, the Roborock cleaning solution left undiluted in the tank seems to be just fine --- but I still don't know absolutely whether it shoud be deluted with a 1 part solution to 20 parts water, or left undiluted in the tank. I know the S8 MaxV Ultra dilutes the tank by a 1:300 mix automatically but the bottle instructions (1 to 20 dilution) seem in conflict --- perhaps for other Roborock models. In any case, so far filling the tank with an undiluted cleaning bottle isn't leaving floor streaks using the higher intensity floor cleaning software settings on our solid hardware flooring, or bathroom tiles. "Rocky" continues to now combo vacuum and mop (when given that particular command in the software by voice) one approximate 1400 square foot area using about a third of its full power, and returns (depending on the dirt) about 2 to 3 times to its dock for emptying / mop self-cleaning (which seems to time out at about 4 minutes and 30 seconds each time), and then continuing its cleaning area for about 2700 total square feet (about half on carpet, half on wood or tile) still with about a 20 -25% % charge left. So "Rocky" seems very well designed, with both solid mechanics and brains, well-designed easily replaced pads, vacuum bags, and its spinning arms and pads. We purchased those accessories (full-kit back-up pack) and felt the pricing was also very competitive. So a 5 out of 5. In fact so far both my wife and I would give it a 6 out of 5. And when we say "Hello Rocky" and it spins and faces you and its female voice says "I'm here" and listens for your next command --- well, I'd say it deserves a 7 out of 5. Hats off to the product developers, product planners, service planners, packaging team (very well packaged for shipments!) and sales/marketing group. And whoever created Rocky's voice and cues. Very well done indeed.

Roborock Rocks

We had purchased an iRobot version and had nothing but problems from the start. We decided to return that and spend the extra money for the Roborock and it was the best decision we could have made. That old saying about cheap is correct. iRobot is cheaper, but ridden with problems. Cheap robots ant good, and good robots ant cheap.

Roborock upgrade from max 7 to ultra 8.

I upgraded because I wanted the docking station which refills water container, has a detergent refill, cleans and dries the mop automatically, and best empties the dust bin. I have two dogs which shed like crazy lots of hair and this vacuum is working great! I'm still learning but I can control everything with my phone, but you still can do it with the roborock vacuum also.

Quite amazing

There's not a lot this machine doesn't do. We set it up in a 1,500 square foot cabin that generates a great deal of dust between visits and has a lot of furniture and other obstacles, plus both carpets and tile. The machine mapped quickly, and navigated multiple cleanings successfully. And it mops! Worth saying again: it mops! Mixes its own washing solution, loads the mop, truly mops (vacuuming in front if you ask), washes its mop as necessary, and keeps on. The app is clear, rich, and flexible. Perhaps best of all, no part of this machine feels tacky. It's all solid and well thought out. Maybe something will cease working sometime ... but for now this is just what we needed and exceeds our expectations.

Life changing and almost fun

Life changing for us in our 3600sf two dog home with a mix of hand scraped oak, travertine & tile floors, Rocky is easy to program and operate. It's more like engineering than vacuuming. Pick the areas that show pet fur or are high traffic areas and let rip. We wisely make the floor space to be vacuumed as clear of clutter including moving wooden dining and office chairs. We only use the vibrating mop in bathrooms or the sunroom. We entertain guests, so manually vacuuming was a serious but necessary chore. Walking barefooted now feels so nice too. I was so anxious at first because our two Australian Shepherds always attacked the vacuum wand. Something about the sound. Not so with our robot. I was also worried about maintaining a robot vacuum. Four months in service and it's not at all an issue. Mapping the floors in the beginning was nearly automated. Adding furniture icon, simple. Editing thresholds, easy. A few times Rocky has gotten stuck or jammed with a sock. Fortunately it shuts itself down in those instances.

Great hardware, app needs work.

Beautiful hardware, subpar software. The user experience is confusing. Some features are hidden many layers underneath main screens. Too many selection options is causing user-choice paradox. Smart AI cleaning is solution however it does not provide users with information on what the machine is actually doing. An entire app revamp needs to occur.
