I used to love this potting soil. The bags that I purchased this time have a lot of Styrofoam and twigs in it. When i added the water to it, the bits of Styrofoam just float instead of mixing in. It makes the soil dry out quickly and i need to water more frequently even though this is supposed to be moisture control. It's just not as good as it used to be.

This is the ONLY potting soil I will use. It really does what the package indicates. I use a moisture meter anyways, but I find out that I don't water my indoor plants as often as I used to. It is definitely moisture control! I highly recommend this potting soil.

I've never bought a bad bag of Miracle Gro Potting Mix at Sams. Always fresh quality potting soil. When purchasing at the large do it yourself stores, sometimes it has stayed on the shelf from the year before and has mold in the bag, but never from Sams.

It’s not like last years. Full of big sticks, filler that plants can’t break through, and barely any food balls like miracle grow soils have in them. Was very disappointed and I bought 6 bags! Not a fun item to return, I can’t believe the difference from last years, to this years.

As an “older” gardener, I rely on the easier to handle smaller sized bag, and the full season fertilizer built into the rich soil. The moisture control element also makes things easier if I can’t get out to water when I “should”” — very forgiving which I appreciate!

This is the best soil I have used for my Summer container plants. It has prevented over watering and root rot from too much rain. It did well holding in the moisture doing the really hot, dry days. The texture of the soil seemed to vary this year versus previous years. It was more coarse. I preferred the consistency of the past years.

I love the fact that you can have this big bag of moisture-control potting soil delivered right to your door. You do get a very large amount of potting soil for your money. It is definitely a very good buy, especially if you consider the fact that if you have purchases totaling at least $35, then there is no delivery fee on it.

This potting soil is a great item to have on hand for all of your at home gardening needs. I have used this product for any and all of my houseplants and every one of them has thrived. The soil mix is an excellent combination that retains just enough moisture (but not too much!) for heathy plant growth. There is no need to worry about overwatering, the mix is perfectly proportioned to give any plant variety just what is needed for heathy growth. It is perfect for even starting new cuttings and is lightweight enough to not damage tender new roots. Perfect item for novice or experienced gardeners alike. You will be very pleased with your results.

My potting soil smelled really strong of petroleum. I bought another bag same kind of soil from a different store and it also smelled really bad like gas. I didn’t use either one as that can’t be good for your plants. Typically this would be my go to soil.
