Every year I replace or supplement my potted plant's soil and it can get expensive. That is why I wait till it goes on sale and make sure I have enough for the season. It has been very nice that my local Walmart carries all this %26 other nice gardening supplies and equipment.

My Hoyas grow happily with Miracle Gro mixed with fine barks. It has fertilizer that nourish the plants. It’s light. & airy. Been using since 2016 fr 3 cuttings. Now it’s a jungle. Will do lots of cuttings to share. Thanks Sams Club fo awesome price. Will buy more 😘

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product! I’ve used this before and seems to work well with my plants. Only thought I’d pass along is make sure you know what size bag you will need. My pots are deep and I ended up needing 4 bags.

I've never bought a bad bag of Miracle Gro Potting Mix at Sams. Always fresh quality potting soil. When purchasing at the large do it yourself stores, sometimes it has stayed on the shelf from the year before and has mold in the bag, but never from Sams.

I used to love this potting soil. The bags that I purchased this time have a lot of Styrofoam and twigs in it. When i added the water to it, the bits of Styrofoam just float instead of mixing in. It makes the soil dry out quickly and i need to water more frequently even though this is supposed to be moisture control. It's just not as good as it used to be.

This is my go-to for my potted herbs and veggies. I've used it for years. It isn't always consistent on the mix of compost and soil, though. But, I like it for the price and it DOES seem to retain moisture in pots. Last year I got the bags and all the soil dries out way faster than plastic or porcelain pots. I put gravel on the bottom and everything I've planted has done great. (You still have to water :)

This is my second purchase of Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix. I make my own soil for my flowers, vegetables and herbs. I discovered this product while watching a YouTube video about creating successful hanging baskets and knew this was what I needed for my soils. Most people think dirt is dirt, but I have been going to workshops about how to grow healthy plants and make sure that they have all the nutrients that they need. It can be daunting , but this potting mix makes a great base for my plants.

I was really disappointed. The dirt inside the bag was dry and rock-hard—not what I expected from something labeled “moisture control.” It took a lot of effort to break it up and rehydrate it before I could even use it. Definitely not fresh or ready to go. I expected better quality.

You will want a shopping cart for this to save your back on the way to the checkout because it's a big honking, heavy parcel. I couldn't wait to get this home to fill up a large plant pot which ended up being bigger than I expected when I started to fill it. Upon opening the bag, I noticed that it had a distinct smell...kind of an earthy aroma. On close inspection, the contents had a definite dark brown cast. Be careful when digging in to make sure you don't spill and mess up the floor as the particles are loose and tend to scatter. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate this product a ten on dirtiness. My plant seemed to be quite satisfied once it's roots were covered and water was added. I wasn't too concerned about underwatering, but even though it advertises that it protects against overwatering too, the water overflowed out of the saucer requiring an urgent run to find towels. Obviously there are limits to it's protective qualities so use your best judgement. Nonetheless, if you can hold onto the slippery bag to carry it into the house, it is a remarkable value for the money. I'll be sure to check back in to let everyone know if my plant reaches a record size.

I will never buy Miracle-Gro potting soil again. The chemical stench of it gave me a headache. I even potted my plants outside because of the odor. My entire garage smelled for days because of using this potting soil. I don't know how dirt can smell this awful. I am afraid of what was in it and hope it doesn't poison my plants.
