I am so disappointed it's something from Miracle-Grow that is such poor quality for my plants. I thought I was buying potting soil not a bunch of wood chips and filler. is dried out in the bag it was so bad and so thick full of filler product. waste of money.

After a small home addition, I ordered topsoil to finish up the surrounding lawn, but I received mostly sand. The lawn did great each spring, then turned brown rapidly in the summer even with extensive watering. The Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Garden Soil was a little damp but was not in hard clumps. I could make it loose soil by working my hands through it quickly, which I then sprinkled over the grass a couple of times, using just enough to not completely cover up the grass blades. I did the same on other small patches of lawn that tended to brown up quickly. So far the lawn looks much better even with the hotter July weather. Was cheaper than other options.

Heard of this soil on Gardening with the Williams YouTube channel. It is soo good! My plants (and his!) have really thrived on this soil and it makes my life so much easier not having to water as much because it stays perfectly moist as it gradually dries out. Highly recommend!

I will never buy Miracle-Gro potting soil again. The chemical stench of it gave me a headache. I even potted my plants outside because of the odor. My entire garage smelled for days because of using this potting soil. I don't know how dirt can smell this awful. I am afraid of what was in it and hope it doesn't poison my plants.

Every year I buy this Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil for flowers that I plant in pots outside. The flowers always seem to do well, and I like the idea that the soil is trying to help the flowers survive during the hot summer months when we sometimes have dry stretches. It's also supposed to protect from overwatering, so it is a "win-win." I usually sprinkle in a little Osmicote in the soil when I first plant my flowers. Try to keep an opened bag tightly closed so that the soil is still moist the next time you need it. I'm not sure how effective the drier/dried out soil from an opened bag is.

This item was shipped to me in poor condition. The driver lied and said it was delivered to my front door when it was not. It was left on the sidewalk - 2 sets of steps away from the front door. In addition - the driver included a photograph that was just a black square. The soil was so wet and heavy that 2 people had trouble getting it to the door. The soil is still not dried out so unable to use. I will not purchase this item again from Walmart.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product! I’ve used this before and seems to work well with my plants. Only thought I’d pass along is make sure you know what size bag you will need. My pots are deep and I ended up needing 4 bags.

This year I used two types of Miracle-Gro to compare results. I put soil for container gardening in one pot and moisture control in the other. I planted a tomato in each. The plant in moisture control was much larger and more productive the the other.

I've bought several bags of this since it came out. Life gets hectic and sometimes I don't have time to water daily. It holds moisture so i might have droopy plants but not burned up. I've only had one bag that was poor quality out of all I've bought. Took me a little while to figure out why they were growing poorly despite fertilizing every couple weeks, but the rest were big and beautiful, with no extra fertilizer. Only difference was I finished one bag with 6 plants and the other 7 had the new bag.

I have some indoor houseplants, coffee bushes, and pineapple plants that needed transplanting. It’s been a week and they are thriving in this soil. The soil itself has a nice texture and is very easy to work with. It’s also a great seed starter.
