Master Electrician recommeded this specific Generator, worked great. Our home is all electric in Tx where the electric grid is infamous. Dual fuel is ideal - 100 lb tank of propane and 5 gallons of gas should take care of us for a few days in survival mode. To Maximize efficiency of generator, I cut the load by Isolating recepticles for fridges on one dedicated circuit and Internet power & routers, TV etc. on another dedicated circuit. Now with breakers for things we don't need flipped of, and 5 of 22 breakers on, it never trips a breaker even with the electric heat pump running. Careful when choosing 240V cord to connect for Home back-up, 90° plugs are difficult to plug in because of relative location to wheel. If you can find a straight one, much easier to use.

Researched a lot before I purchased this unit, it has all the important features.1. Name brand, 2. dual fuel, 3. electric start with remote start, 4. 50A outlet so it can plugged into a whole house system, 5. digital display, 6.low oil shut off, 6. overload shut off, 7. CO shut off. This generator will power my 3.5 ton Trane a/c 5200w, refrigerator 800w, TV 500w, modem, and lights 100w. An electrician will install the 50A outlet and whole house surge protector. I have only done test runs on this unit, but it seems to run well. My neighbor has owned several generators, he is jealous, so I guess that I picked a good unit.

This is my second Westinghouse portable generator. The first generator has worked flawlessly over the last 4 years and this larger, dual fuel generator appears to be even nicer, with many added features. It started right up out of the box (after adding oil) and everything tests out perfectly.

Packing was perfect. Good looking Workmanship. Set up was easy following the easy to read instructions. Filled the engine with the included oil, added gas and connected LP. Set fuel selector for gas, Followed starting instructions then Pushed the electric start button and engine fired right up. Connected a couple electrical tools to see what the generator would act like under a load and everything operated perfectly. While the generator was running on gas I switched the fuel switch to LP and without any loss of power it was running on the LP. Then switched the fuel back to gas and it was again back to running on gas. So easy to switch fuels while it is running. The easy starting will be a blessing when the power goes out to soon.

finally used for the first time lost power for 12 hrs filled up tank with gas about 7/8 full did our normal things around the household,laundry,dishwasher,lights,tvs, computers showers we are on a well handled it no problem furnace as well didnt have to add more gas way more fuel efficient than my last generator.

I bought this generator in preparation for this winter. It was easy to assemble the wheels and feet. I attached a propane tank. It started right up with ease. Though I hope we won't have the type of winter we had last year, it is so nice to have this generator in case of emergencies.

I bought this to upgrade my 25 year old generator with much more power. Its very heavy but once the wheels are installed its easy to move around. I installed the wheels myself but I recommend you have another person to help. I hooked up a propane tank & it started right up. I ran 2 ac units my fridge, big TV, all lights in the house. I have a transfer switch 30 amp, & 2 15 amp 12 gauge cords hooked up too. Runs great. I wished I bought this earlier when a storm knocked out our power for 2 days a month ago in Houston, Highly recommend this generator!

It was very easy to install the wheels and feet. The manual is complete and easy to understand. I connected the generator to a propane tank and it started easily . During the 5 hour test run I tested each outlet with my meter , and they all tested perfect. This generator was shipped everything needed to run it. All I had to do was provide fuel.

I bought this to pair with my Solar Generator, and it is amazing. One hour of this POWERHORSE totally charges my solar generator, moreover, it runs the power-consuming items that my solar generator can't... I live off-the-grid and my freezer is never without power thanks to the Westinghouse/Solar Generator combo!

I bought this generator with the hopes of never having to use it. Just 3 short weeks of purchasing. We had a wind storm that knocked out the electric for 3 days. The generator was a easy set up and ran the house like it should. Much better than the last time we lost power
