I was told about the 9500DF generator by the electrician company we use but I was a bit skeptical only because of how little I knew about Westinghouse products. After some research I was impressed at how much people swear by Westinghouse generators. Once our electrician hooked up the connections to the house we fired it up and wow! The satisfying ease of operation and how simple it is to maneuver,,, I have a new appreciation for Westinghouse

I purchased this generator to power our 3000 sq foot home. Total electric home with exception of natural gas for heat. Ordered on 12-27-21 received 1-4-2022. The shipping box had three holes in it but the generator was fine. The quick start and user manuals were both missing. I don't think they fell out of the box. I don't think they were included. Everything else was there. Followed the setup instructions to the letter. Added an additional 4 or so ounces of oil to bring the level 2/3's up to the Full line. Attached a propane tank, turned fuel selector to LPG, turned on the battery, pressed start on the FOB and there was life. I plugged in a shopvac, air compressor and two circular saws and ran them all at the same time. The gen dipped for a second and then went on as if they weren't even there. Ran the gen for about 1.5 hours running the tools during that time. Tested the output voltages of the 50 amp plug and they were correct. Did not test gasoline mode but fully expect it will work just fine. Turned off the battery switch. Let the unit cool off, covered with an old sheet, rolled it into the garage and plugged in the battery tender. It's a good looking unit. All controls are easy to access. The noise level was acceptable. The wife says no worse than my snoring. Overall a good unit with lots of features compared to other brands I shopped. The covers over the power outlets are a really nice little feature. Can't believe every brand doesn't have them. We are now ready for the next wind, snow or ice storm.

We had 2 power distruptions this summer and I expect more to come. Majority ash trees are dead in the state aand WE Energies is not able to cut them all down. I only tried generator and it started right away. Right now electrician is setting all lines to connect to main panel if necessary. After he is done we will try it again to see how much power it can actually give. I expect conditioner, furnace, well, microwave, refrigirator and lights in one room. This product was recommended by electrician.

Decent generator, it was powering our house for around 6 hours and burned about 2/3 of the propane tank. Two caveats - it is a bit too noisy, and the power input was a bit uneven, so the APC UPS was constantly reporting distorted voltage and switched back to battery.

I received the generator during a blackout. It was easy to assemble and worked immediately on the first try - using propane. It has been running about 4 hours and have used about half of a 20lb tank of propane. So far it is performing above my expectations - It was on backorder for a while but I'm happy I didnt compromise and waited. The design is well thought out and easy to operate. The remote, funnel and tool kit are nice touches. Only two negatives - It arrived intact, but I was surprised at the packaging - it could have easily been damaged if not handled properly. Also, it is louder than anticipated. The spec is 73 db. From 50 ft away, my db meter averaged 83 db with a high of 87 db.

I just got this generator, after losing power multiple times over the past few years. I wanted something that could run any appliance in the house plus a few extra items, and could also run on propane. Unpackaging and setup was very easy. The fold down handle bar is perfect for easy storage and towing. And overall, the generator seems well built (coming from an engineer). It did require about 1.5L of oil to fill, not 1.1L as stated in the manual. After filling with oil, I connected the battery, connected the propane, pushed the electric start button...and it cranked up perfectly on the first try. No issues! I'm very pleased with the purchase so far.

Ordered online and got it delivered yesterday. I assembled the wheels and front stands, filled with the provided oil and started it on Propane. Left it work with no loads for 30 minutes, then put some gas in the tank and switch the fuel source on gas. Engine works stable. The design is great, well painted, love the blue color. Affordable price for all the features and electric power. One think that I don't like - it's very loud, even deafening. I got it as a power backup at home, but have no idea where to hide it and run it in case of a need. My neighbors will hate me in a radius of 300 yards around me. I think the manufacturer should really invest in some sort of a muffler. Other than that, the electric start, remote start and all type electric outlets make it a great tool. On a side note, when running on a propane - I like it much better, it's less louder, not an exhaust smell, clean air. Bottom line - I will keep it, will use it and will recommend it to anyone looking for a generator backup at home, or performing contractors work, where no power source is available

This will be a lengthy review and I am in now way being compensated or have any affiliation with Westinghouse. Start with delivery and unboxing: they delivered as promised using XPO, who I had never heard of prior. They were very personable and took good care of the generator prior to and during delivery. They placed it exactly where I wanted in my garage. A+ on delivery. Next assembly and set up: I followed the manual exactly. If you read carefully and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS” you will see the entire quart of included SAE 10-30 oil needs to be added to the generator and they even include a funnel which I did think “what a nice touch”. Everything went smoothly and there were a couple things I noticed. 1. There is a cut off valve on the fuel line for the gas. I would recommend never getting a generator without one because when you are done using your generator you should cut off the fuel and then let it run until it uses all the fuel in the carb so it does not crystallize prior to you using it again. 2. It was so easy to switch between gas and propane, also well explained in the manual. 3. Battery was already charged but they included a battery charger with this model that plugs into a normal 110 outlet and then plugs into the faceplate on the generator to top off the battery. In the owners manuals it states not to leave it plugged into this charger as it is not a trickle charger and may overcharge the battery if it is left charging more than 8 hours. ANOTHER GREAT UNEXPECTED ADDITION. 4 The pairing of the key fob for the auto start was a little weird but, again, if you follow the directions exactly even though it seems weird it worked the first time. 5. It included the wheel and handle kit unlike a lot of other generators I previously priced and researched. Nice size and sturdy wheels as well. Starting: 1. I used propane and I used the auto start. The first time it did not start on the first or second attempt but fired right up on the third and I think that is normal because the fuel had to make it to the motor. 2. Although it did not start on the first crank it had an auto feature that it automatically tries 3 cranks before failing and turning the start/stop indicator to red indicating a start failure. I only pushed the button once. Great feature!!! 3. I love the counter that shows usage to help you determine when to service. Things it came with I was unaware of: 1 a small tool kit 2. Quart of 4 cycle motor oil 3. A fully charged battery 4. A 6.6 gallon main fuel tank for gas which should give you around 12-14 hours of run time. The only negative thing and I hate to mention it because I feel like I am wanting to eat my cake and have it as well. The generator is noisy! It is a 12,500 watt generator and is going to be loud, but be prepared to use some longer cabling and extension cords to get it away from you. We are using this generator to power our home during hurricane and cold weather power losses here in TX. VERY HAPPY WITH THE PIRCHASE!!! It is definitely big enough to run the whole home heater, all three refrigerators, and one freezer as well as all lights and entertainment as well. Advice: if you are using it to power your home speak to your electrician before buying a interlock kit as different breaker boxes use different kits. Great job Westinghouse

Solid construction, smooth running and quieter than expected. Setup was a breeze and first startup went without a hitch at close to 0 degrees. Electric start and included trickle charger are a big plus for me and the remote fob is a nice touch even though I don't see myself using it much. I love that it's transfer switch ready and has such a long run time with its larger than usual fuel tank. Overall a great generator that provides plenty of power to keep the essentials running during cold Maine winter outages. An easy 5 stars.

I have already had two power outages this summer and anticipate many more this winter. The generator easily powered my two refriderators, freezer, AC and lights. It is quiet and I was easily able to switch between gasoline and propane. Now I can relax when the weather threatens.
