I bought this a little over a month ago and already had a chance to use it. This thing is so well-built and the features are phenomenal. It's the easiest generator I've ever used with regards to starting it as the key fob is so convenient. I was able to run All the important items in my house when the power went out and probably still could have turned a few more on. This machine is a beast and I would highly recommend. The handles and wheels make it very easy to move around despite how heavy the generator really is.

I purchased this generator a few days ago and am very happy with my purchase. The Westinghouse name has been a staple in my home for years. The generator is beautiful and started right up. The manual is easy to read and understand. I am looking forward to many years of use.

I bought the DF model after several power turn offs. We live in a remote area, so when the power goes off, we are very dark. I unpacked, put on the wheels, put in the correct oil level, hooked a propane cylinder to the 9500DF, pushed the remote start button, and the generator started immediately. I researched all buying options, and the 9500DF is truly the best answer to power outages. Since I purchased the 9500DF, I have purchased a transfer switch and a 50 amp power cord. Excellent product so far; the true test will be when the power goes out, but I feel well prepared with 9500DF. (I prefer the power strip).

For powering your home: Step 1. Have an electrician install a transfer switch. This is a separate but necessary item. Step 2. Purchase a Recreational Vehicle (RV) power cord to run the power from your generator into your home. I purchased a 25 foot 50A RV power cord with twist lock from the world's most famous online retailer. Step 3. Follow the Quick Start start directions that come with the generator and you will have your generator assembled and fueled within 30 minutes. Step 4. Charge your battery for an hour. Step 5. Start your generator. Note that it took my generator 7 attempts to draw the fuel and oil from their tanks and into the engine so the generator could run. Step 6. Test your generator's ability to power your home. This generator is able to power my refrigerator, meat freezer, lights and air-conditioner (for cooling ONLY) all at the same time. I can also turn of my AC and power my oven and range. Step 7. Disconnect your generator and go to sleep knowing that you have the ability to power your home with a great dual-fuel generator that fits into the bed of a pickup truck.

My Westinghouse Wgen 9500DFc generator just arrived. I immediately assembled the feet and wheels, which was all the assembly required other than adding oil and plugging in the battery. The assembly was extremely easy but you may need some help lifting and moving the generator until the wheels are on. The instructions are illustrated and easy to understand. I've tested the generator and it starts right up. It runs smooth but it's not quiet. I have no doubt that my 9500DFc will deliver the power I need when I need it during an emergency. The peace of mind that comes with owning a reliable dual fuel (gasoline and propane) generator has already begun. So far I am pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend the Westinghouse Wgen9500DFc.

Purchased this generator a couple weeks ago and finally got it out of the box. Was well packaged and had no damage. The generator itself is very nice looking and seems to be well built. Came with oil and everything needed to start (except fuel obviously) including a fully charged battery. Filled with some gasoline and press start button. It fired right up and has a automatic choke which was a pleasant surprise. It is fairly quiet considering the price and size. Also came with remote start and a battery tender that just plugs into the control panel. Overall with only having used it 15 minutes, I would highly recommend this generator. Hopefully it holds up and provides the back up power when I actually need it.

We went big and bold, and are so glad that we did. We don't have to worry about running two or three things at a time in addition to our refrigerator and freezer. We live in an area where our power can be out for 5 to 7 days and this is huge improvement over our smaller generators because we can keep our food safe and have light and a way to cook. It is the best generator we have ever had and we are very pleased

I have only just purchased the Westinghouse WGen9500 generator. The install of the legs and wheels were simple and initial start up right out of the box was quick and easy. There was enough charge in the battery to actual start the unit with the push button. The test run was smooth and not as loud as some other generators that I have been around. I have an electrician coming to my home tomorrow to install a transfer switch. My home is 100% electric; heat and well water and we tend to have power outages often. Wind and rain take down tree branches and leave us not only in the dark but no heat or AC and without water. I will no longer have to stress the loss of my food in our freezer or be inconvenienced without water, heat or cooling. Thank you Westinghouse.

I bought this in late July, and opted, since it was transfer switch ready, to install it, so I purchased a 15FT 50 Amp Generator Extension Cord and Power Inlet Box Combo Kit with Locking Connector, and the generator interlock device. Yesterday, I received the generator and today it is running. It powers everything in the house, including two A/C units!!!

Generator fits my needs exactly. Starts easily, controls and indicators make this easy to use. One star rating due to 50A cable connection (4 connector female plug) which is directly over wheel and ground connection. Prevents secure use of standard 50A generator cable that has handle and 90 degree configuration for cord. (The cord is blocked by wheel, and the plug face is restricted by ground connection). Could be resolved by a unique generator cord that has straight plug rather than 90 degree plug - but not available as accessory. I haven't yet been able to find - my house transfer switch input was set up for Reliance PC5020-14M cord set with 14-50 connector. Most other brands seem to have same connection. My next option is to get an electrician to provide a custom made cable, increasing the expense.
