[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rare Breed is one of my favorites. Love the nose, proof and flavor. If you like Wild Turkey 101 you'll love this. I can only make one complaint. The international version is a lot better and we can't get it in the US.

In a market with every increasing prices, it is good to know that some things stay consistent. Rare Breed and Rare Breed Rye are both excellent bourbons and are surprisingly reasonable in price. A nice step up from lower shelf bourbons, and a nice step down price-wise from some of the other offerings in the market. Wild Turkey has a great portfolio of products, all at a reasonable price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a big Wild Turkey fan overall and and enjoy many of their products. In my are this bottle sells for only $45 on average but is an absolute smasher! It has a great nose, nice mouthfeel and at 115 proof is right in the middle of my range. It’s definitely not something I would recommend to those that are new to drinking bourbon at the proof point as I would recommend the lower proof Single Barrel or the 101 until they get accustomed to it first. For the more experienced bourbon drinker this one has to be in your collection at all times.

This is a full proof bourbon that doesn’t drink “hot” like others. It’s one that can be easily sipped neat, with a splash of water, with one cube or on the rocks. There is some sweetness, with caramel and cinnamon, but it’s not overpowering. It has layers of flavor with spices, wood and leather. For the price, it cannot be beat.

Reviews are very subjective and everyone has their say about the topic. Here's mine about Rare Breed. In early 2025, I was in a newly-opened liquor store and got into a conversation with another guy about bourbon. After we shared some like and dislikes he suggested I try Rare Breed so I bought a bottle along with a few other items. Later that night I pulled out a Glencairn glass and poured in maybe two fingers of Rare Breed. I noticed that this bourbon is "thicker" than others, it's not watered down. After I rolled it around the glass a bit I took a small sip and "delicious" came to mind. It's so good and it's not real sweet, it's just what I wanted. I have never tasted top-end bourbons but I really can't imaging them being any better...smooth, not hot nor brash, just delicious. I'll say this too...I think Rare Breed defines great bourbon. I repeat, It;s Delicious!

You don't have to pay $200 to drink great bourbon. Rare breed is one of my "go to" bottles when I want that upscale sip on a special occasion and for $50 dollars a bottle it could easily be an everyday drinker. Very tasty bourbon! Not a surprise though, it's Wild Turkey.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You can’t beat Rare Breed. It is full flavored, has a beautiful mouthfeel, and is that Wild Turkey taste profile at its best. Barrel proof, or sipping whiskies of this quality and consistency normally is priced too high and too hard to find. Not this one. It’s readily available and priced perfectly.

I discovered Rare Breed some years ago while visiting the distillery. My first experiences with this full bodied, full flavored bourbon were very enjoyable. Although the proof point is a little higher than many of their other bourbons, it is very flavorful and drinkable. This has become one of my special occasion bourbons and it is delicious.
