I never leave reviews. And I'm the person that wondered why people say that. I assumed it's either because they may be trying to persuade someone either or way, who may be on the fence about buying a product. They are satisfied or dissatisfied. In this case, I am highly satisfied. The pergola is great. A few minor cracks in one of the 4 main corner posts, due to shipping I am assuming. I didn't call or complain, I didn't notice to I had put it up. It should be okay. I bought 2 months ago. It's been up a month now. Took about 7 hours over two days. I did alone. I had my wife to the corner post once I stood each side up. I attached all the separated parts together first in the garage. Then moved to the outside to set up. Went very smoothly. I love the idea of this kit for the DIY’er. It’s like a huge Lincoln Log set. I haven’t ha stud opportunity to actually put it together yet. The transport company ruined a bunch of wood pieces and I’m waiting for the replacements to arrive. This company has excellent customer service and immediately addresses issues with a friendly and understanding representative. They are a model for other businesses. Although I wish my experience was much smoother, you can’t get upset when you are treated so kindly. Awesome!

This is a great Pergola. It was delivered with two boards that were day. Called customer service. Very nice helpful staff. Two days later I received two replacements. Spent one day treating all the wood with a wood present stain. Then one day to assemble. Used the BILT app for instructions. Went together like a dream. Great product. Very pleased.

A month had almost gone by and we finally got our money back, I called Backyard Discovery direct and within a few days as promised we got our Pergalo and simply love it! We bought the 12x10 pergola last summer. My husband put it together in about 4 hours. We needed additional help from family to get the pergola in the footings, but was overall and easy process. It held up wonderfully over its first Minnesota winter and fits our space perfectly!

I wish I had looked into getting one of these sooner. I debated on whether to pay for assembly or not and went without, and it was not hard for my husband and I to assemble it ourselves. Now we and our whole family spend a lot of time out there. We do game nights, meals, hanging out. I was a bit worried about it during some storms but it wasn’t impacted at all.

We bought this pergola last May, my husband installed it mostly by himself, I only helped him to carry the heavy posts to the footings. Before purchasing this pergola, I had been shopping for a pergola for years. When I saw this online, I was drawn by its size and quality, think that it will elevate our backyard, and we both just completed our master’s degrees so I bought it as our graduation gift. The delivery took about two weeks to arrive, the crews unloaded the four packages in our covered porch. As recommended by some of the reviews, my husband read the instructions thoroughly, sort through all the pieces and group them. He poured 6 footings that is 16”wide x16” long x18” deep for stability. The installation of the pergola took him about two weekend days. It is absolutely gorgeous. We are very happy with this purchase.

Started out slow but once I recognized all the parts the installation went quickly and smoothly. I had to drill out the top holes of the angled extensions so the bolts would line up. The extensions are not structural only decorative. Other than that installation was not difficult.

We have been waiting for years to create a patio space and this pergola is everything we could have hoped for! We absolutely love the aesthetic; it was straightforward to assemble; and it fit within our budget! We wanted one that could withstand high winds. It is already been wind and kid tested, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for making our backyard dreams come true!
