Awesome Generator

We purchased one of these for our son to use in his bow fishing boat used it all last summer with no issues. We brought it with us up to Lake of the Woods on an ice fishing trip. Temperatures were -25 to -35 degrees below zero. Not one issue. Took it on our next trip to same lake a couple of weeks later. Temps were even colder. This thing purred like a kitten. We have since used thos generator for 4 trips up to the big lake. It runs for 4 days straight on each trip. Not even 1 hiccup Excellent product. Have since purchased one for ourselves so my son could have his back. Also, quieter than the Honda.

I have tried another of small generators and I should of gotten this year's ago

This is a very economical generator good power with excellent fuel usage. I uses for portable power when I am traveling for work. This is one of the quietest generators I have ever had and used in the portable line. I definitely recommend this generator if anybody is looking for a small compact generator that is very easy to move and very portable. This is a replacement generator for a much more expensive generator that if I'd known this generator was as good I would have bought this generator and not had spent the $2,000 on the other generator that I am still fighting for under warranty

Great product so far.

Like this product because the noise level is very low compares to others. Love the display gauges that display gas level and remaining time. All portable generators should have this. Using this unit as a home backup to keep the fridge running and some lights during blackouts. So far so good.

Made life without power during the huricane considerably more tolerable.

This generator was a blessing. We went from oil lanterns and flashlights to lamps, fans, and TV. We were also able to cook a hot meal with our electric fry pan and pot. The general 2000 started with first pull and was quiet enough for our 3 year old grandson to sleep comfortably. This was a wise investment for a premium quality generator.

Great generator - poor welds on wheel brackets

Opened the box to a brand new one thousand dollar generator. Everything looked great. Not a blemish anywhere. Started assembly and all is well. Wheels installed no problem. Handle, added oil, connected battery, gassed up, started and ran beautiful; again no problem. First time moving on wheels; problem. Both wheel brackets broke free from all but one weld. Impossible to move more than six inches without backside wheel pigeon toeing into the muffler. Hurricane Delta was fast approaching to my area of south Louisiana so I wasn’t about to return a good running generator. I would tough-out the inconvenience and deal with it after the storm. I wasn’t about to return the 200 pound unit and spend the time assembly another. The generator turned into a thousand dollar stand-by insurance policy. I’m otherwise happy for making the purchase. I’m not the first one to experience the weld breaks after reading reviews. Serious consideration for a Generac whole house standby generator purchase is now in jeopardy unless my complete satisfaction with warranty claim is made.

Great Generator, light weight

Took it back to camp added oil and gas and the unit started right up after setting dial to start and pulling the core two times. Then set the dial to run . All my lights, coffee pot, and outside farm light all work at the same time. Also had the DVD and TV running. After outside farm light warm up the power gage move down on the power gage reading. Also very good on gas

Overloads for no reason.

I bought this unit for a month long trip. This thing turns off after a very short time displaying"overloaded" no matter what you do. I tested it with just a 1500 watt coffee pot and same result... "overloaded" Very dissatisfied with this product as it left us without power for a majority of our trip which was 80% dry camping. Don't recommend

Great features

Purchased the GP5500 as a emergency power source after a recent hurricane that came from the gulf up through most of the state of Louisiana. I worked at a big box store and compared prices on line and decided to purchase the generac because of the good reviews and the price was great. I got it home and it took about thirty minutes to set up and got it running. The unit started on it's first pull. I like the no flat tires that is included. Like most reviewers stated, the unit is louder than some other brands. I prefer noise over no power at all. Luckily we haven't had to utilize the unit yet but hurricane season is in full swing right now.

Excellent portable generator

After months of extensive research, I chose the Generac IQ3500 as a home back power source. All of the pre-work paid off. This unit is very well built, runs extremely well, and is unbelievably quiet. Could not be more pleased with this generator. Well done Generac.

*Almost* Perfect

We have a trailer RV, and a 13,500 BTU A/C, so needed the 3,000+ startup power. I've been researching generators off & on for ~6 months and finally pulled the trigger on the Generac GP3000I for the following reasons: - Low weight (60 lbs w/o gas) - Low decibels - High power (able to handle our A/C) - Made in Wisco (where I live) I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately there isn't a perfect generator out there at this level. Ideally the GP3000I would have the following features: - Fuel shutoff switch (so you can run the carb dry, not sure why this isn't a standard feature!) - Wheels (yes, 60 lbs is a lot lighter than comparable brands with this power output (aka Predator etc @ 100 lbs), but some casters would be nice. Lastly, the instructions could be a little more clear about the oil (they ship you 0.6L that fills capacity so you can put it all in, but that isn't readily clear). Otherwise, very happy with how quiet the unit is, low weight, sharp appearance, and it started up on the 2nd pull.
