I took this out of the box brand new,put the oil and gas in it for the first time,I pulled it one time and it already started. I know inverter generators are quiet,but after watching video's of this one before I bought my,it was even quieter than I thought or expected. Wish this one had some type of fuel gauge or hour meter but still don't think any less of it for that !

I recently purchased this generator first to supply power for tools to build a bunkhouse. Second I would like to use it to power the bunkhouse when I stay in it. So I started on the bunkhouse last weekend and put it to the test. I’d say it passed. I ran a small compressor for a nail gun and a miter saw mainly. At first I ran a compressor that was at the maximum amperage the generator allows. It overloaded the generator and it shut down. I wasn’t upset. I had a smaller compressor available and used that. So I was actually happy that overload protection did it’s job. After I let it cool down from the overload I fired it back up. Ran fine the rest of the weekend.

Heat shield over the muffler rubs against the muffler and is loud and annoying. I'll probably take it off and see if I can bend it away so the metals don't touch each other. I bought the generator to camp with so I want to make it a little more quiet. Haven't gone yet. Just filled the oil and put gas in it to test. Ran a heater and skill saw with no issues.

Love the new generator, with an easy start electric starter. I went thru the process of adding the oil, etc. The generator arrived with a dead battery. I charged the battery , it started and ran quietly and efficently. l started the generator once a week just to keep ths system operational. My only problem is I need to charge the battery every time I go to start the generator. The battery does not hold a charge. The battery arrived needing a charge, and every time I go to start the generator I still need to charge the battery again.

Purchased this generator at the last second while on a camping trip. Noise level was next to nothing....had the unit sitting 10 feet from three of having a conversation and didn't notice it was there. Very simple to start and fuel efficiency was excellent.

Bought this unit for camping so I can charge the trolling motor batteries in my boat. This generator is much quieter than expected and is extremely efficient. It starts with half a pull of the start cord and is basically vibration free. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone who needs a generator that can he carried by one person.

I spent 3 months researching generators for my RV. I chose the Generac IQ3500 after carefully comparing all brands. This is the RIGHT CHOICE!! Outstanding generator. Very well constructed and solid. SUPER, SUPER QUIET. Easily runs my entire RV with AC. Easy to operate. The IQ3500 is defiantly the "top of the line". I highly recommend this generator.

I purchased this generator two years ago I have since used twice, draining it regularly as well as running it as needed. 1- I recently tried to start and at first pull the recoil did not work. It took about 30 soft pulls and me walking away for it to retract. 2 - purging, I don’t know if this is normal but it purges when it ran and now it won’t run, cleaned the carb from sitting- even without fuel. And ran for 30 second then have to pull it again 3. Service, I just looked up and the closest service center for Generac is 60 Miles away. What are my options for warranty/repairs? I like this machine for the space saving and power aspect but I am not seeing that maybe I should have went with my gut as far as prior luck with the Red and White brands comparable model. Generac, Please Help!

I purchased this unit 6 months ago from menards.com. Overall, this seems to be a good generator with the features necessary to support sensitive electronics and it is very quiet. However, it has some production flaws. The first thing I noticed is that the exhaust pipe does not line up with the grill that covers it. After a run of several hours, I'm guessing that the plastic grill will be melted where the exhaust pipe is pointing. The second thing I noticed is related to the maintenance of the unit. The oil drain for the unit does not actually exit the outside casing of the unit, leaving it up to your creativity how you are going to get the oil to drain out of the unit without making a mess on the inside of it. If someone has some suggestions to make this process clean and simple, I may increase the product rating slightly. So far a search of FAQs on Generac's website and a thorough search through the internet has not amounted to anything. The third thing I'll make note of is the quality. After just 6 months and 2 uses, the electric start on the unit no longer works.

I bought this generator to run my Ice House/Camper. All of the 2000 units were not powerful enough to run my AC Unit. This unit has been great, I was able to run the AC, Refrigerator, TV, DVD, Lights, and Coffee maker all at the same time. The IQ3500 is also the quietest unit I have seen, it is as quiet as the 2000 watt units. Only thing I would like to see improved is the LCD display, on bright days it is a little hard to read and I would like it to stay on hours remaining. You have to scroll though all options each time. Either way not a big deal. Over all a great unit and I would highly recommend it.
