[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been able to sleep and not wake up with severe back pain. I don't like how high the bed is but they all are that way now. (I'm short) I have an adjustable base and I don't like that the mattress slides.

This is our second Temper-Pedic bed system. Prior to this we had a king size mattress with a flat box base. Recently, I required two knee replacements. Replacing our single king size mattress with two side by side twin size mattreses with independant adjustable bases provided my dear wife and I with a bed system which helped my knee rehab without disturbing her.

We are very happy with out TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid mattress. We love the way it conforms to our body shapes and the fact that it accommodates our various sleeping positions (i.e. stomach, back, side). We have found that we sleep better and longer. Also, we love the fact that we can raise the head for watching tv, then lower it to sleep.

I believe that owning a Tempur-Pedic mattress and pillow that is the right one for you is the key to achieving a restful night sleep and pain free. I no longer have to go for a biweekly massage that, oftentimes, only causes more neck and back pain. What is so wonderful about my Tempur-ProAdapt mattress is that it contours to the shape of my body. There are times when I do not lay my head on my Tempur-Pedic pillows, and that is absolutely fine too if you ask me. So far, I own two mattress from Tempur-Pedic and I know without a shadow of a doubt that it is going to last me more than 20 years. With care, weekly laundry-washing, and the soft touch of Tempur-Pedic bedsheets and pillow covers, I know for a fact that IT IS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF ME! There are less expensive mattresses out there but if you want the ultimate in comfort and quality, Tempur-Pedic is absolutely the 'Gold Standard'. We simply couldn't be happier with our TEMPUR-ProAdapt Soft mattress and as someone with a very bad back, I can attest to its support qualities.

This mattress (as well as the pillows) is quite comfortable and we both seem to be sleeping better since this purchase. This is our first experience with an adjustable bed frame and we like it very much. The product(s) also provides some relief for my bad back.

The jury remains out on my new Tempur-Pedic mattress. It replaced a hybrid from another manufacturer in its twelfth year of use that developed uncomfortable strike through to the quite firm support layers. The ProAdapt Hybrid was chosen simply because the in-store sample felt the most comfortable among the several hybrids and others on site. Despite the warning of the break-in requirement in the product literature, I found the first few days of use bordering on intolerable. With a week or two of additional use the mattress is becoming better to sleep on and I'm willing to withhold final judgement pending further break-in. I suspect my prior mattress was softer overall (and I'm older and creakier now), but I fondly recall the wonderful, enveloping support it provided during and after break-in. None of the in-store options at Mattress Firm offered this and, in the end, I may pursue adding a topper to try to recapture the feel of the prior mattress.

We purchased the mattress and Ergo 3.0 base about a month ago (9/23). We are hoping the mattress does get softer. Once you put a pad and fitted sheet on the mattress it isn't as soft or conforms to your body. The Tempur Pedic cotton sheets do not stretch as advertised - would not recommended. The base does have some flaws - there are bright lights under the bed that do not go out, so we had to cover them up. Also the remote does not stay lit very long in the dark. Overall, we are pleased with both.

I have lost so much sleep trying to adjust to this bed as a side sleeper. It makes me feel stuck in place in the shoulder area and I have been tossing every night and waking with numbness and tingling in my hands. It feels comfortable if I lay on my stomach or back but I am a side sleeper. I thought it would help my shoulder and hip pain but it has not worked for me. It does not align my body, it makes me feel like my head is higher than my shoulders. I called after having it for a week and not sleeping and was told I had to follow the company policy and keep it for 30 days before making a return. I'm in week three now and have not had one restful night.
