Tough

Cost too much

These steaks have been good for years although there has always been a problem with one steak (usually hidden under the price sticker) which is the end piece that is small and tough with a tendon running through it. I’ve had to examine the package carefully to try to get 4 good steaks or ask the butcher to cut 4 while I wait. They’re usually not too happy to do that though.

So, I’ve been getting these filets from Sams for years, but the last three times I’ve gotten them here they’ve had so much fat that I’ve had to trim them myself. This last batch had so much of the hard fat that I was left with only half of the steaks after trimming. I will not be buying steak here again for a while… I don’t know if it’s a bad butcher or poor quality meat. I took pictures and will show them to the store manager tomorrow.

This had to be the best steak I've ever cooked! It was so moist it tasted like it came from a high end steak house! We buy a lot of beef tenderloins from different places and none has never tasted this good! I'm not one to write reviews, but I couldn't help, but rave about this!

The fillets were amazing

We put this in a Crock-Pot with spices and water before we go to work on low. When we get home it's done so tender it's hard to get out in one peace.
