Big design flaw is that there is a gap between the box and the rim that is plenty big for mice to get in. Opened my deck box today and there was a large hole in one of the cushions. I lifted up the cushion and 2 baby mice came out of the hole in my cushion!!! Not happy. My husband said he could probably rig up something to block the holes on the front and sides but cannot cover the gap on the back side where the lid meets the box as the hinges won't work then. I'm stuck with a large mouse trap. All this is after the first box arrived with broken pieces and had to be taken back to the store 40 minutes away. Grrrrr.

I just bought this deck box two days ago and during assembly I found out that it came with 2 missing crucial corner pieces called "LM" ( the box came with 4xLC and it was supposed to come with 2xLC and 2xLM). So I now have an unfinished and partially exposed deck box. Also, I want to mention that the deck box is not the best quality and has flimsy walls that don't fit together all that great, so I don't have the highest of hopes for this box actually protecting my patio furniture the way I'd hoped.

I bought this in the local club because I needed a larger box to keep pool floats and toys in. After spending about 30 mins putting together (not difficult) I noticed that the lid had a small crack in it. After further investigation, the crack was at the same location as one of the yellow straps that held the cardboard box together. It appears that the strap was so tight that it cracked the lid. I sent an email three weeks ago to Keeter Customer Service and have not heard anything from them. Second, the quality of the plastics where the screws go is really cheep. After opening the lid several times, the metal hinge on one side broke off where the two screws screwed in. The plastic screw holes broke right off. The screws were not long enough to get a good grip in the plastic.Now the hinge won’t work. The screws look like wood screws and are screwed into plastic. Bad design flaws or inferior plastic. Either way, now I’m sitting with a $169 box that the lid won’t stay open or secure when closed. I have other, smaller Keeter boxes and have never had issues with them. This larger box is definitely not worth the money.

Do not recommend because lid will crack at both hinges after using for one season. Had to duck tape lid and can not use hinges now which is not only ugly, it also defeats purpose of lid. Also I have to secure lid to keep rain getting in and to keep lid on. Ridiculous! We are two adults who live in a high priced development, so this looks bad. This is unacceptable for price of item. Rest of the container has been sturdy.

After extensive research on deck boxes and reading over 100 reviews, we bought this on the Mother's Day Saturday promotion for $30 off. I tried to buy it online at midnight then again at 1 AM and the Sam's website still wasn't loading, so I went to bed. Got up early, bought it before 7 AM and the in-store stock at our local store was already snapped up. (They had several pallets of these when I was there 2 days prior.) So, took advantage of the free shipping. Package was delivered by FedEx the following Wed. There was no damage to the box, so I was optimistic we were good to go. We carefully opened the box on the porch and sure enough, the corner of the top cover was chipped off. The piece was not in the carton, so we assume it was shipped that way. I called Keter, per enclosed instructions. I was told to upload my receipt and photos of the damage. This was done last week. I still have not received any response. And, unfortunately, they still do not have any in stock at my local store. Being a seasonal item, they probably won't restock. At this point, we will likely return the package to Sam's and get a refund. There are quite a few horror stories posted online that it can take many months for replacement parts to arrive from Keter. We don't want to wait. Disappointed.

I ordered one of these while it's on sale and the first one I just received is an obvious return and as soon as I opened it, I can tell why, one of the main support posts has broken plastic on it so it will not hold together. I just ordered another "new" one and I hope this one comes new. It's really annoying that Sam's Club would ship out an obvious return (the box looked like it was dropped off a cliff and then tapped back together) as a new item without checking if its already damaged.

Puchased at Sams Club 15 months ago - Left side bracket broke today. No misuse, seems to be a poorly welded part. Keter states there is a 2 year warranty on parts, will see if they replace this. Will update rating/recommendation after. 1ST 2 photos are of broken LEFT side where there was either a poor weld or a defective part. Last photo is of still intact RIGHT side.

I would not purchase this item. We bought this in May and have not had any issues up until now when a small storm came through and somehow managed to rip the lid completely off. The plastic was broken in pieces by the hinges. The deck box did not hold up in “semi bad weather”. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed and will not purchase this brand deck box again.

Purchased yesterday. Assembled today. Tripped on piece that broke and has a hole in the lid. Called Keter. They said they don't sell replacement lids. If it was a warranty claim disassemble it and take it back. So much for being honest. Guess I'll live with broken MY LAST Keter product
