The container was big which is what I wanted. I also read some reviews that said it’s pretty flimsy so I expected that. What I was Not happy with is NOT getting any instructions on how to build it. Going to YouTube to see if I can get help that way. There’s other videos of people who got the same container with no directions. The videos on YouTube weren’t too help so just kind of threw it all together. Lots of extra pieces since it’s not put together correctly. I do not recommend for those reasons. There was also a part that was broken, there was 4 of these bar things and one of them was missing the end like the other 3, it was like the mold ran out of plastic and didn’t complete it. Like I previously mentioned, I just used the 3 that weren’t broken so I didn’t use the one that was it’s just missing it in it.

This is a decent storage box. Sturdy enough, but not "rugged" so you wouldn't want to have a lot of weight pushing on the insides of the box, or i think the sides might bow out. You could not sit on it, but you could use for serving table space, and it is more than tall enough for that. Perfect for storing pool floats, life jackets, etc. The 230 gallon is tall, so if you're short, you may not be able to reach into the bottom of the. It is 100% water proof in the rain, as it has been through several very heavy downpours, and it has stayed dry inside, so you could store beach towels in it with no problem. It is light and easy to move around. One person can easily drag it (it's too bulky to lift for one person, two can do it very easily.) The black definitely gets HOT in the sun, but that is to be expected. This is a BIG box so be sure you have a place in mind for it. I would suggest somewhere at the back of your space and out of the way. We moved it 3 times before settling on a final spot becuase it was so big and just captivated the space. I should probably give this 5 stars becasue it suits our use perfectly, but I'm giving it 4 just because it is a little bit "not-rugged" -- I don't want to say flimsy, because it it not flimsy, it's pretty sturdy, just... ...not rugged! As far as the assembly, it was easy to put together if you are a practical person and can use the instructions as a guide. Be careful with the screws and using a power drill, it is easy to strip the threading of the plastic that they screw into.

I bought this about nine months ago. It sits on screened lanai that is partly sunny. I open it today and the hinges are rusting badly. The box is also fading in blotches. Not happy about this since it’s not exactly cheap for a plastic box. It could have bought huge Rubbermaid totes and saved a ton of money.

I purchases the 230 gallon deck box from online Sam's Club and it arrived broken. My local Sam's Club won't accept it back for an exchange and instead directed me to call the Keter company for replacement parts. I purchases this on 5/11/19 and on 5/22/19 I called to request the 2 broken parts (part # CO). The Customer Service was horrible and the guy on the phone was extremely short and rude. He informed me to take pictures and send them to the company email, but never received a confirmation that new parts were sent out. I called back on 6/5/19 and they told me to wait for a phone call, it's 6/13 and haven't heard from anyone and haven't received the broken parts... Now its too late to return to the store and the parts that are broken make putting it together impossible.

Do not recommend because lid will crack at both hinges after using for one season. Had to duck tape lid and can not use hinges now which is not only ugly, it also defeats purpose of lid. Also I have to secure lid to keep rain getting in and to keep lid on. Ridiculous! We are two adults who live in a high priced development, so this looks bad. This is unacceptable for price of item. Rest of the container has been sturdy.

I bought this deck box Saturday night, assembled it on Sunday evening and by Monday evening both corners have bowed. I can slip my hand under each corner into the inside, so it’s definitely not weather proof. Leaving anything inside the box is not an option. Incredibly disappointed in the quality.

Purchased this hoping to protect brand new outdoor furniture cushions from mice and other rodents. However, it apparently has enough gaps in the box at the bottom and it certainly has at the top under the lid for rodents to get in. Ruined brand new cushions. Not a box I would recommend.

Ok I’ve had mine now for over 2 years. I got lucky and got it on sale in July I believe it was And I did that by reading reviews and noticing dates so I paid like 119.99 for mine. I am disabled but had no prob putting it together by myself. What I use it most for is Actualy a work table/bench, as it’s very tall so I can work on a lot on the top of it plus store a lot inside in fact I considered getting one for my autistic son cause he likes confined places and would love it in his room to get inside with his iPad and just chill once the white comes back in stock I will be doing that for sure. It looks exactly the same as it did when I got it and I don’t have a covered porch so it gets direct sunlight from about noon til dark. The lid opens and closes super easy with the pistons is absolutely water proof. I do find a lot of spider webs and spiders but the bottom has a small gap at the seam. May try some spray foam for that. I did try spraying flex seal but it just ran through the gap. My deck boards are not as close together as they should be so I’m sure it’s spiders entering from under the porch into the bottom other than that I hear most people don’t have that problem. That would be my only complaint. I also have the small deck box 2 actually same brown color by keter and love those too use them for my automatic pool vacuums and as side tables or seats. And I have the medium one that looks more like a bench but doesn’t have the back on it like some do. It doesn’t lock like this one and the small 30 gallon. Keter changed their warranty policy while back they will only add it if the item is registered within certain time frame so best to handle that. I missed out on drill and driver lifetime warranty from rigid cause I was not aware it had to be registered within 90 days to obtain that coverage so hope this helps someone. But I’m not thinking warranty would ever be necessary for this deck box it’s so sturdy and again in direct sun light and not a fade or warp from me working on the lid for various projects such as sanding and painting

I've purchased this product twice. The first time, after bringing it home and opening it, I found that at least 3 parts were completely broken. I understand mistakes can be made, so I thought it was no big deal. I took it back to Sam's and they were wonderful in the return process. They gave me a credit as I just wanted the same deck box. The second time, after bringing it home and opening it again, I found that there were parts missing! I then had enough and called the company, who then told me that the parts would take between 8-12 weeks to come in. I definitely would not recommend this product to anyone.

I’m really disappointed with this deck box. I bought the Keter 230-Gallon XXL Deck Box just about a year ago, and the lid has already cracked right where the hinges connect. It wasn’t abused, overloaded, or mishandled — it simply didn’t hold up to normal outdoor use. For something that’s supposed to be durable and weather-resistant, I expected it to last much longer than a single year. Now the lid won’t stay open properly and the crack keeps getting worse. Definitely not worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone until the quality issues are addressed.
