I love this pergola! It was easy to put together as it was already precut and stained. Looks awesome next to our pool. I was nervous about if the stain would hold up during the winter, but it looks brand new. This pergola was much cheaper than buying one from Menards or Home Depot. Love it and would definitely recommend it to others!

This pergola was exactly what we were looking for without the hassle of a DIY. We went with the 20' by 12' and the pictures prove it all. Instructions were easy to follow. It took my husband a total of almost two days on and off throughout the week. He did it on his own. We are happy so far.

The product itself seems to be a great product, but the included assembly through Go Configure leaves a lot to be desired. A piece was broken during transport, so I was left with a partially constructed pergola on my patio and the team on site said they had to report to their supervisor. The supervisor of the local company submitted the report and GoConfigure sends me an email saying their team had to "investigate" this which generally takes two business days, starting Friday over a Holiday weekend. When I called for more details I was told they could not give me any timeframe, because Go Configure is a separate company than Backyard Discovery (despite their name and number appearing on the cardboard boxes the pergola came in.) Backyard Discovery had previously been very helpful and so I chose to call them directly. They immediately noticed my order and prior registration and told me they would FedEx me the broken part and it would arrive in 2-4 days. Honestly I'm furious because if I had called the manufacturer the day we found it was broken I could have finished this myself and gotten to enjoy the pergola for at least half of my holiday weekend, rather than watching the pieces left in my lawn slowly kill my grass. Good product, great manufacturer service from Backyard Discovery, but terrible customer service from Go Configure.

We bought this pergola last May, my husband installed it mostly by himself, I only helped him to carry the heavy posts to the footings. Before purchasing this pergola, I had been shopping for a pergola for years. When I saw this online, I was drawn by its size and quality, think that it will elevate our backyard, and we both just completed our master’s degrees so I bought it as our graduation gift. The delivery took about two weeks to arrive, the crews unloaded the four packages in our covered porch. As recommended by some of the reviews, my husband read the instructions thoroughly, sort through all the pieces and group them. He poured 6 footings that is 16”wide x16” long x18” deep for stability. The installation of the pergola took him about two weekend days. It is absolutely gorgeous. We are very happy with this purchase.

We purchased this in June. We had to wait to install once the concrete patio was completed. It took about 6 hours to install completely and we were completely impressed with the construction. All of the components necessary were included. It turned out to be much stronger than I expected. Originally I was going to build one from scratch but after pricing Cedar components and figuring out all of the hardware required we decided to order from you. So glad we did.

I left a 1 star review a couple weeks ago because after a month and a half, I hadn't received my pergola. After weeks of being told 'tomorrow' by the shipping company, I went and picked it up myself. The pergola is beautiful and the cedar smells wonderful. It took me about 6 hours to assemble everything except the 1x's on the top. Is give this a 5 if it wasn't for the shipping fiasco.

I will update this post later with pictures of the finished assembly, but I want to start my review now by saying what a responsive company they are. I had questions about the pergola we bought, and the people who responded were awesome. They answered my quedstions both quickly and thoroughly. I started by unboxing everything in the garage, and then sorting adn counting everything. It was all there, and it all looked great. Then, as the instructions suggest, I used a water sealer on every piece to protect the wood. We still have some assembly work to complete, but then I will update this review with photos and final thoughts. So far, though, it's going very well.

I ordered the 10x12 pergola in early June 2020. It arrived in a couple weeks very neatly packed in 2 large, heavy boxes. We unpacked all parts and pieces and laid them out to verify all parts were there (they were) and to confirm everything was in good shape (it was). We took the suggestion of others and sealed all of the wood prior to installation. We completed the installation over 3 evenings, working a couple hours each night. It is definitely suggested to have 3 sets of hands to assist with the first few steps of the getting the joists installed to the posts. The directions were fine, and the installation is pretty simple and straightforward however the worst part of the entire project is the hardware. Most of the predrilled holes lined up (seems like this was an issue for many) but we had many cases where the bolt would not thread into the hub piece. Very frustrating although we got it to work out but had to throw an extra deck screw into a couple locations. The little joist end pieces, which are only decorative, were the worst part of the entire install as the hardware issues we had made for putting these up very difficult. When completed the pergola really looks good and we are certainly happy with the purchase. As others have stated the wood is very soft and light. We love the stain color and as you’ll see the wood is very aromatic. Be cautious when installing the purlins as we used an impact driver and if not careful it will drive the screw deep into the wood. For the price paid this is a really nice and functional pergola. If they sort out the hardware this will be a really great setup.

Much better than my expectations one of the boards and shipment got damaged customer service was so excellent to deal with they had my new part here in 2 days my only complaint is I have to put it together by myself which has no influence on the company LOL The instructions to put it together were on point all the hose lined up I would definitely purchase another one if I need it to in the future.... LOVE IT.... I've gotten so many compliments on how beautiful it is from my neighbors which it is has added value to my home
