- 5 out of 5 stars review2/22/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Defender® LTX M/S2 are a great set of tires. My husband was very happy to receive these to put on his truck. They are a very high quality tire, easy smooth ride. Also work well off road. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of product.
Awesome product
AmberliciousOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/25/2025Comfortable, quiet, and stable. I install tires for a living and this is the most popular tire that my shop sells for large SUVs and pickup trucks. I finally decided to try them for myself and they are the best tires I have ever had on my truck. They have incredible my fuel economy by a little over half a mile per gallon and the comfort it unmatched.
Amazing Tires
TireGuyOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review2/8/2025Don’t let the “all season” fool you. They definitely deserve to have the M/S on the side wall. I would even argue the 3PMSF. They are super grippy in the snow and cold. Seemed to be quiet and comfortable. They have been out in plus degree weather and -20 and handled with ease. Tread life is amazing as well. They look sleek and the design is smooth. Highly recommend these tires. You do really get what you paid for.
Awesome tires.
Skywalker93Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 3 out of 5 stars review5/16/2024Great Tires, Handled really well when I was plowing snow. Theyre ok in muddy conditions. The only problem is theyre rock slingers. Its constantly throwing rocks and you can hear them from inside the cab when they hit the body. If you go a lot to places where its dirt roads get another pair of tires
Great Tires But Rock Slingers
MCllc20Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/17/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered these for my suv and they are a great fit. Nice smooth ride and traction. These are great weather resistant tread and nice fit assures me when driving there will be less to worry about with these solid tires.
Nice ride
Mwright32479Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/17/2025I bought my 2nd set of Michelin Defenders after going 86,676mi on the first set. I never bought Michelin tires until I bought my first set of Defenders. I probably could have driven another 5k-7kmi but I noticed that traction wasn't that good in the rain with 86k plus miles. Very impressed with these tires quietness, longevity, and performance. When it's time to ditch the 2nd set of Defenders, I will definitely be buying a 3rd time.
Great Tire
JoeOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 1 out of 5 stars review8/2/2024I was hoping these tires were as good as the previous ones, but I was wrong. These tires are louder and seem to inhibit more road vibration. I have had them balanced again but they still have an issue. The previous LTX Defenders I had were smooth had hardly any road noise and felt more sure footed. This comparison is after the 50 or 60k miles I had on the old ones, up until the day I swapped them out. I don't know who they paid to design these tires but I would hope they get rid of them and find the old team that designed the previous generation tire. The only thing I can say that is about the same is the gas mileage. So I will give a 1 star for at least keeping one aspect of the tire the same. Please get back to being the Michelin brand th...
Not as good as the original LTX Defender

But this new Defender LTX m/s2 Tire is so hard and it creates a rumble/road whine in my truck, especially on Country Blacktop roads. I got a 2024 truck that I'm really proud of but these tires are probably the worst michelins I've ever owned. The dealer said I can swap them but in my size 275-60-20 there's nothing to choose from but a more aggressive tire( no way). I'm hesitant to switch brands but I may have to do that at a dear cost to my pocketbook. ( Dealer has said he would swap tires out for another Michelin but they dont make my size in less aggressive tires as they have really pulled back on choices).Shame on you Michelin for leaving this ...
Noisy!. Beware.
BR549Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review5/30/2024I bought them 5 months ago and put 6663 miles on them so far. They are quiet and sturdy giving me complete confidence that they will provide more miles than what they are rated for (70,000). I put them on a 2017 Lexus GX460. They destroyed my MPG ~30%. I still love them!
Superior in Confidence!
Joe BlackOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/17/2025I installed the Defenders back in June 25 and immediately noticed a difference in ride smoothness and noise. Most importantly, I have driven through some heavy rain downpours and found these tires cut through the water like it wasn’t even there… I feel very safe having these Defenders on my Ram 1500. Highly recommend them.
Cuts through rain soaked roads like nothing.
Redwood MeadowsOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 2 out of 5 stars review4/21/2025Purchased these Defender LTX M/S2 little over a year ago, for my 2015 Chevy Silverado with 65K miles on the odometer. I have experienced all facets of weather conditions with these tires. Tires ride good for HIGHWAY applications. Tires ride good in the rain, but that is where it ends. Tires are very sloppy in the any amount of snow on the road. The tires are inflated to 35-psi, per Manufacture recommendations. The RIDE QUALITY is absolutely HORRIBLE. The tires ride so HARD that you feel EVERY bump and crevice in the road. Great on the HIGHWAY, but that's it. I have been purchasing Michelin products for 40-years and these are the worse I have ever had. I am very meticulous about products I purchase for my vehicles... safety and handlin...Paul POriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer Care MIC USPaul P, we are sorry to read of your dissatisfaction in the Defender LTX M/S2 tires on your Silverado. - 1 out of 5 stars review9/9/2025These Defenders LTX tires are being replaced at 30k miles vs the 60k they claim to last. Rotations every 10k miles for the life of the tire. Will not buy again. Bought new tires for a new business and a different brand. Will never buy this manufacturer again.
Sucks

They were very easy to get installed and they have made every ride so much smoother. They are the perfect size and will definitely be getting another set when it's time
Great Tires
Kenzieann2010Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/23/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a new to me 2020 Toyota Tundra and was wanting to put new tires on it so went with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2. Now I live in Texas and have had them for about 6 weeks of up and down weather. From 80 degrees and windy/rain to near zero driving in snow. These have held up tremendously in all of these weather conditions. The traction these get is superb and makes for a smooth ride. Ride noise is minimal if that is a priority for you. Turning corners in them is also great. Overall these are tires I highly recommend!
Great on my Tundra
AriaOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/14/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am female, and dont know a whole of technical stuff about tires, but I do know I am really happy to have these tires for my Tahoe. they seem to make the drive quieter and when we hit a slick patch of road while driving in very cold temps the tires dug in and we did not skid. made me feel very safe. a big plus-they look very cool on my Tahoe, and after driving on them for a several weeks the still look brand new.
love these tires!!!!!
nessa257Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/4/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 are great tires for modem pickup trucks & full size SUVS. I own a Chevrolet Suburban LT and this tires fit them perfectly, I can feel the difference while I’m driving if how these tires work on any terrain, specially on rainy days. The material is thick and the tires look powerful. I recommend them if you have a large truck!
Great tires for all terrains!
Borykua22Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/25/2025These came stock on my 22 Tacoma. I'm at almost 3 years on these tires with 65k miles. From the look of them I could definitely go another 15k easily. They have preformed so well in the mid Atlantic region I decided to get them again on a new set of wheels. Quite smooth and fantastic in the rain. I'd recommend them to anyone that doesn't need a offroad tire.
Exceed my expectations
Jeff024Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/10/2024Got a set on Tahoe with 54000 miles and they still look and perform like the day we bought them. Further more they still got 8-9/32 tread.Michelin in my book are the only tires out there. In the long run they as my uncle says cheapest tire too. They will outlast 2-3 sets of the other name brands.
Best tire on the market
BobOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/18/2025I put these on a 2025 Honda Ridgeline nice Ride and very quiet their predecessor the LTX M/S had pretty good winter traction ( I had them on a few vehicles) and ran them through the winter so I expect these will be the same. Though they don't compare to an actual "winter tire" they are pretty good. Minus a star because they have limited sizes, couldn't find the size I wanted so had to settle for a tire an Inch taller.
good all around tire
