The batteries kept falling out

Cool idea. But, mine randomly opens and closes for no reason. Mostly while we're sleeping!

We feel so ritzy! Really, though, it is great not to have to touch anything -- opens and closes on its own. We love our new garbage can!

TLDR: the battery compartment lid(s) can (and maybe will) fall straight into the garbage, alongside the C batteries, never to be seen again. This garbage can is really nice and a great little upgrade that isn’t super heavy on the wallet. However, our can had this issue where one of the battery compartment lids wasn’t as snug as it should have been, so it would eventually flop down, straight into the trash bags, and the batteries would fall in shortly after. I am using past tense because this all finally happened and didn’t get caught like it did the three or four times it had happened before, so the one battery compartment lid is long gone. I received the batteries I needed to replace because the automatic lid wasn’t opening on its own, but the lights were present, and discovered the cause of the issue. I would love a replacement battery compartment lid, considering this is practically brand new, and maybe future iterations of this item might see these compartments relocated to the back of the trash can lid, where they can’t fall straight into the garbage. In the meantime, I’m using tape and cardboard which isn’t ideal, but better than throwing C batteries away. Lol. All of that being said, it’s still a really nice trash can and it looks great in our kitchen. I would upload a photo, but like the battery compartment lid, that feature does not appear to be working as intended.

It’s slow to open. You have to get close to the sensor for the cover to open and it impacts your hand or the trash frequently then doesn’t open completely. It arrived with a dent I could press almost completed out. The top of the trash bag is visible below the top cover.

I am so happy I found this trash can at Sam's Club. Not only was it less expensive than any I found, but it works perfectly. It looks great sitting at the end of our counter. It is so much better than the others I checked out. It keeps our trash looking as clean as any trash could.

Love this. great because if your hands are messy or you have them full of trash you can just get near the top of the can and it opens for you.
