Hormel Black Label, Thick Cut Bacon 3 lbs.

This bacon is awful!!!  It tastes bad and does not fry to crisp. I will NOT ever buy this bacon again.

Horrible bacon

I will never buy this brand again. It smelled kinda weird to me, kinda like canned dog food. Just my personal opinion

Didnt like the smell

I cooked a batch of bacon and it all shrunk down do to nothing. I thought spending a little more on Hormel would make a difference but it actually is worse than Kroger brand thick cut bacon. Think I'll stick with the Kroger brand thick cut bacon.

Superior taste and quality bacon.  Great price vs that found in our local grocery stores.

I bought this because it was a bargain (cheaper than Wright) and most bacon is bacon right?  Nope, this stuff was bland as heck, how can bacon be bland? Stay away, trust me!

Awful bacon. No two pieces cut the same way and anything from so thin you could see through it to way too thick. If you are cutting it up into prices, I suppose it would work, but not for frying breakfast slices. I will not purchase it again, even at half price.

There’s a reason it’s on sale

If you're old enough to recall buying bacon 20 or so years ago, you'll recall regular bacon being what they now sell as "thick cut". Frankly, I can't visualize how they can slice modern "regular" bacon as thin as they do. 

In my case I tried to find an option that wasn't crazy expensive, none are inexpensive, and that is good quality. Hormel Black Label, Thick Cut from Sam's is the closest I've come. Three pounds is a lot for a family of two. I usually cook it all on my outdoor griddle, then vacuum seal and freeze it. That system has worked well for us for years.
