This Pulled Pork was ripped apart

This is not a good example of pulled pork. The meat was not cooked until it was "fall off the bone tender" so the texture of the BBQ is coarse and chewy with a lot of visible fat. The meat was mechanically pulled apart before it was cooked properly. It does have a smoked flavor but since it was not cooked long enough the fat in the meat did not render out.

Pretty Good

I thought it was really good. We bought the Sonny’s bbq sauce and mixed it in. I don’t know what people are talking about the “fat”. We had none in ours. It was packed really tight so that was kind of frustrating trying to get it apart. I put a small portion of it in a pot w/ lid and let it heat up that way. It was really good and a quick cheat for pulled pork

WHAT has happened to Members Mark?? TERRIBLE!

Well, you suckered me again. The packaging said all the right things, the price was fair, aaaaand BOOM! Low quality product when you get it home. As the other reviewers said - tough, undercooked, tasteless, no smoke flavor at all, no seasoning that I could find or taste... I'd rank this as prison or school lunch level meat. Its almost as bad as the burnt ends product.

Smell made me gag.

I am on the older side and have eaten a few hundred pounds of pulled pork in my life. This is in the bottom 5 percent of all pulled pork I have ever eaten. Meat quality is poor, seasonings are really bad. The smell when I opened my oven after warming it almost turned my stomach.

Not Bad If You Are Pressed For Time

I love to smoke my BBQ. I’ll spend between 12 and 24 hours getting it “just right “. I tried this when I was pressed for time. Dump it in the crockpot pot and away I went. I can see getting hooked on this stuff. Wide open flavor to allow the sauce of your choice. I put a vinegar based sauce on this batch. Put three packs in the crockpot at once. You get a lot of meat for the money. I may have to put my smoker away. Actually, I’m thinking of trying it in the smoker in the near future. Just remember, BBQ is different to different people. Put 10 people in a room and no one will agree which style or flavor is the best.

Finally

I am from Kentucky and have moved to south Texas, as far south as you can go. While they offer pulled pork at most bbq places it is not made the way I am used to back in Kentucky. There we let the meat show its true flavor through being smoked on a true pit and sauce is added for a little extra kick, vinegar base. This package has been the closest bbq pull pork I could find here in the RVG that tasted like home. I did have to add my own sauce but I will be purchasing it again when I have a taste for bbq back home.

like eating erasers

Blegh, artificial taste like eating erasers. Def not buying again. I've had other brand pulled pork from Meijer and used a microwave to heat it up so comparing apples to apples here this bbq flat out sucks. I have an iron gut and this sat in my belly gurgling for a while trying to digest this tire like substance. Do better Member's Mark.

We did not like this. The pork was in large chunks and did not separate easily with forks as the directions instructed. The pork was rubbery and there was no sauce included and it tasted too salty. I hate to waste any food; especially meat, but this is going to unfortunately end up in the garbage.

Beware of bad packaging and mold!

I've purchased this pulled pork before, and that time it was actually quite tasty. I didn't get to eat it this time, as the "vacuum-sealed" packaging had food and mold on it. I don't know if when they packaged it, they just didn't get it clean and the residue molded, or if there were leaks in the package. The smell of the moldy gunk was awful. Bummer. Definitely inspect your vac packaging before you decide to eat it!

Good cooked pork

I would not call this pulled pork because it is not shredded but it is a tasty cooked pork. I am especially glad that it does not come covered in barbecue sauce like most of its competitors. That means that I get the choice of what to use it for: it is good with barbecue sauce but I think it is even better in tacos or burritos with salsa or green chili instead of barbecue sauce. I am so glad that Sam's Club finally got this back in stock after not carrying it for a very long time.
