Nasty...three times!

Do not buy this. I bought it once and thought it was a one-off. I bought it again because I heard that was some quality issues. I bought it a third time and I am convinced this product is nasty and should not be put out for public consumption. I opened a pulled pork package, and it smelled as if it was old. When you're open something old, there is a distinctive smell that it has. I tried to add a little bit of barbecue sauce and pulled it apart and try to couple different ways of preparing this meat. I am not a school trained chef, but I've been cooking for my immediate family and my extended family for about 25 years. I threw this container away upon opening and preparing what I thought was going to be a decent barbecue meal. The meat seemed as if it was sealed and a layer of fat inside the packaging. Some of the meat was a smoked colored red and some of it was a beige brown. I've got one question, why? I do not recommend this product.

Horrible! Nothing But Fat!

If you like to eat big globs of fat mixed with a tiny amount of meat then this product is for you. What little meat you find amongst the fat has zero flavor. Horrible! I am very disappointed in this. The MM pulled chicken is amazing but avoid this pork!

Pretty Good

I thought it was really good. We bought the Sonny’s bbq sauce and mixed it in. I don’t know what people are talking about the “fat”. We had none in ours. It was packed really tight so that was kind of frustrating trying to get it apart. I put a small portion of it in a pot w/ lid and let it heat up that way. It was really good and a quick cheat for pulled pork

Smell made me gag.

I am on the older side and have eaten a few hundred pounds of pulled pork in my life. This is in the bottom 5 percent of all pulled pork I have ever eaten. Meat quality is poor, seasonings are really bad. The smell when I opened my oven after warming it almost turned my stomach.

Not good!

I got this because it was cheaper than the package of carnitas... this was garbage. It was somehow over cooked AND uncooked. Like Grandma left in the oven at thr wrong temp for too long. We forced our way through a few servings, different ways, but had to COOK IT and doctor it up. No, just... no.

Tough / not edible

First time buying and it was so bad. Very tough and full of gristle. Not chewable at all. Not sure if just had a bad batch like one of the other reviews mentioned , because I do read some good reviews. But I will not risk buying this ever again. It also had a very strong scent when cooking. ( Not pleasant)

No, just no!

Purchased this pulled pork product previously and was happy with it. Liked that it came without barbecue sauce so you could use your favorite. So, the most recent purchase was quite raw on the inner portions. Supposed to be “fully cooked” so I was shocked to open the package to put in a pan (barbecue sauce in hand, only to find inside was quite raw. Granted the instructions suggest microwaving but I didn’t want to microwave, just wanted to breakup and slo cook in my sauce for a few minutes. Made me sick to my stomach. Will never purchase this “fully cooked” pork again! Also, had a lot of fat and gristle. Not good!

Something new

Took a chance and purchased. Lots of portion. No sauce mixed. Dry meat but you can add in your own bbq sauce to your liking. We used it for sandwiches. Had some left over and made carnitas tacos with salsa Verde on the cast iron skillet. Discover the quick cheat way of whipping those tacos up!

WORST BBQ I HAVE HAD! SAVE YOUR MONEY

Worst BBQ I have had. 1/4 of it at least was fat and grizzle that had to be picked out. Not smoky tasting at all. Tasted so bad BBQ sauce mixed in did not even help. Wasted $11 that ended up in the trash. I did not even feed it to our dog. HORRIBLE!!

Not for a BBQ snob

Flavor is ok. Too much fat and gristle. Grew up with Lexington BBQ, got spoiled - pure meat, no junk and perfect smoke. Very few places can compete with Regional spots and no packaged BBQ can come close to a great hole in the wall pit smoked joint that knows what they're doing.
